Don Johnson Wins $23.2 Million in 'Nash' Cash

7/7/2010 3:12 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0707_don_johnson_BN_gettyDon Johnson just scored a $23.2 million victory in his heated legal battle over the show "Nash Bridges" ... but that's not all.

As we first reported, Johnson -- who co-owns the copyright for the show -- sued the production company behind "Nash," claiming they screwed him out of millions of dollars in profits.

Rysher Entertainment Inc. had argued that the show actually had a multi-million dollar deficit.

But today in L.A. County Superior Court -- the judge ordered Rysher to fork over $23.2 million -- plus half the profits the show makes in the future.

Cha-ching.

It about time that we all stand up and make people accountable for what is agreed upon when it comes to business. I proud that it is being brought to lite that we all know about it. So we can all start doing for ourself with "Don's" encouragement. Thank you Don Johnson for standing up for all of us. God Bless.

Maybe we don't know all the facts, but it seems to me (from reading other articles about this) that Johnson's legal case was solid. At the time of its airing, Nash Bridges was a hit. For Rysher to claim that they've never made any money is a typical production company claim. (And, frankly, in my opinion, Don looks fabulous. Of course he doesn't look like he did in the eighties. Nobody looks as they did more than twenty years ago. That's a sad fact of human aging.)

The reason that all these productions are "money losers", according to the Producers/owners is that Hollywood accounting is completely bogus. Everyone has their hand in the till and any money coming in gets distributed very quickly. Everyone has a 'point' or fractions of a point and, ultimately, there is no money there. It has already been spent, and Rysher, being a corporation, just closes shop. The owners keep the carefully syphoned cash.

This is only valuable to Johnson for any future earnings. He won't get anything from Rysher.
