7/9/2010 9:15 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The Miami Heat aren't done hunting for talent -- TMZ has learned LeBron James' new team is in hot pursuit of Los Angeles Lakers superstar Derek Fisher.

Well-placed NBA sources tell TMZ ... Fisher -- who has 5 championship rings -- has been contacted by several members of the Heat organization including multiple players.

We're told Fisher -- who is a free agent -- is slated to be in Miami tomorrow to hear a pitch from Miami Heat President Pat Riley.

It's been reported that Fisher already has an offer on the table from the Lakers -- but it ain't exactly a killer deal. We'll see if  the Heat have enough cash left to bring the Fish to South Beach.

Derek Fisher has more common sense to stay with a championship team than to go to a team that will fall before it begins! So what if they got LeBron, who the hell is Chris Bosh? and D-Wade hasn't won another ship since Shaq left. Remember the Olympics, these 3 couldn't win until KOBE and Carmello came. The Heat doesn't even have enough cap space to even get Derek, they at most have 8-10 million left to sign players, and they only have 3 signed so far. You suppose to have more than 10 players on your roster. I bet Derek makes more than what their gonna offer him. The best the Heat can do is sign a bunch of nobody athletes or people from the d-league to fill the rest of the roster!!!

Lakers will fall. Lucky for them most of the top teams are in the east so their free to rule in the west. PS: There's not gonna be a 3peat.

Fisher took a CUT in pay to be closer to the best medical help he could get for his daughter, which was LA. Now after countless clutch WINS, they throw him a BONE?! Just like they've done with many of the stars of past years that have gone away. Anyone remember Jamaal Wilkes, that went to the CLIPPERS! Michael Cooper, James Bryan, and Kurt Rambis that gave his heart and soul only to be sacrificed after the finals! We can no longer afford someone that doesn't score in the lineup! (words to that effect) When he was never asked to score only sacrifice his body nightly going for every rebound and loose ball. X-Laker fan, Mr Buss.

Derek wants to remain with Lakers. Kobe wants to stay AT ALL COSTS. Ready for a pay cut Kobe? Cupchack wants to pay him NBA minimum wage despite what he has been doing for basketball and the team. Despite his increased performance output. Short term it makes financial sense. Miami is offering more. Long term it does not; fan attendance will compensate as well as Lakers media. Morally it is repugnant for Derek Fisher to found in this position. Maybe World B. Free was right about professional basketball: that it is still a plantation system.
