Robert Shapiro

Will Rep Lindsay Lohan

7/14/2010 8:55 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned famed lawyer Robert Shapiro will represent Lindsay Lohan in her jail saga, but we're told Shapiro's plan is not to appeal Lindsay's 90-day jail sentence.

Sources say Shapiro, who was part of the team that successfully repped O.J. Simpson, will try to convince Judge Marsha Revel to put Lindsay in a rehab facility and either eliminate or minimize jail.

Shapiro, whose son died of a drug overdose in 2005, has a lot of experience with rehab facilities and we're told he has a specific plan for Lindsay, and a specific place in mind -- a live-in rehab facility in which Shapiro is involved.  Shapiro created a foundation to help people deal with drug and alcohol problems, named after his son -- The Brent Shapiro Foundation.

Shapiro was hired in a nick of time.  Lindsay is supposed to turn herself in on Tuesday.

Well, "real" LL posting or not, ANYONE who starts out a response with a "WHATEVER" pretty much says all they need to say, right-n-there. Pretty ignornant response.
Whover you are, I wonder why you took offense at the one post, pointed out a ((*& you to the one lady, when so many more post here are offensive.
My guess is something of TRUTH hit a nerve. That is usually why people react negatively to things.
Lindsay, You are so going to jail.
If you don't go to county lock up, you will become a prison in your own home. Your assnine behavior has turned a whole world of decent folk against you.
And we's smarter dan you's.

Shawn Chapman Holle also was on the OJ team, you know. She used to work with Johnny Cochran.

Isn't there a conflict for Shapiro, as an attorney, to try to get LL into a rehab facility he is "involved" in? It sounds like he is one of the founders. How can he objectively represent?

The sentence is done. If they do not appeal, they have no more opportunities to present new arguments, suggest new options, or anything like that.

She has two choices: turn herself in, or appeal. It's too late for lawyers and alternatives.

Actually she has a third choice. Book a plane to France and enjoy a nice drink.
France doesn't extradite its own citizens and even for foreigners, it takes a LOT of time to make the extradition a reality.

As an attorney with experience in dealing with people with severe drug and alcohol issues, YOU, SHAPIRO, should know that most addicts have to hit a personal bottom before they sober up. JAIL is LINDS bottom. DO NOT TAKE AWAY HER RIGHT TO HIT BOTTOM AND THEREFORE HAVE A REAL CHANCE AT SOBRIETY!!! SHE NEEDS to do TIME.

Good luck to Lindsay. Hope Shapiro can help her out.

Anyone in her position would of course try to get out of the predicament. Anyone denying that is just BS.

If I was the judge ... I would accept the change to rehab but not 90 days, not 180 days but 365 days in a faith-based Teen Challenge type program where she can allow God to change her from the inside-out. Teen Challenge has an 86% cure ratio. 86%!!! The odds are in LL's favor IF... and I repeat... IF she really wants to change and not just do rehab to get out of going to jail. One year... faith-based residential treatment ... and you get your "out of jail" card from Judge Ernie. OTHERWISE .... bring a lot of books, young lady cause you are going to have some time to catch up on your reading. Find Jesus and your problems are over. Amen. and Amen.

If I was the judge I would be willing to trade 180 days in rehab at his facility over 90 days in jail then 90 days in a LA rehab... BUT... first I want 3 days in jail then a perp walk to court to be released and 500 hours of real community service after rehab.

Would you serve a few days in jail for a million dollars? How about several million dollars? Lindsay's future is tied up in doing her time in jail. The public would never forgive her if she got out of doing time. She is, as usual, working against her own best interest.

Oh, she is going to jail alright. Even if she had a VALID reason to appeal, she is so toast with her message to the courts, to the system.
There would be mayhem if the judge "gave into" this tart. Besides, LL, at least the one posting here, says SHE DOESN"T NEED REHAB, she is clean and sober....right? So, uh, what's with going to rehab, dear "real LL" if you don't have a problem? Why doesn't Shapiro just walk you right out of the court and over to Neimen-Marcus?
And yeah, what's up with Shapiro trying to get her into his facility, THAT aint no PRO BONO place, to be sure.
Looks like free advertising.
Geeze, I am so glad I got the hell out of LA.

Are you sure?

The Lindsay Lohan camp is adamant that she doesn't have a drug problem. She violated the terms of her probation by missing classes. She goes to court with F U on her manicure. What message does that send to the judge? Would you send her to rehab when she claims she doesn't have a substance abuse problem? Sounds like a simple case of not following the rules!

Without cigarettes and being alone in a closed space, the panic attacks will hit her hard. She will ask for Tranxene, valium... If the doctor or the shrink sees her in bad shape and with the help of a little overacting, things will go smooth. A little high
Ready to rock the world again.

The fact she can win big money after jail, hahaha. This is not hitting bottom. All the liquor stores in LA should get ready for a massive attack by November or December.

Seriously, her problems are more complicated.
Lindsay will be back by Christmas.

I don't hate Lindsay...I actually used to like her movies and thought she was beautiful and talented...but honestly, she needs to get over it. Go to jail, do your time. And if the judge agrees to what this lawyer wants...THEN DO IT! She used to be one of my favorite actresses but now, I can't stand to look at what she has become. Advice to Lindsay...get off the drugs and alcohol, dye your hair red, and put some meat on your bones!!! Please!
