Kim Jong-Il Punishes World Cup Coach

7/30/2010 11:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

North Korea's tiny dictator Kim Jong-Il is reportedly soo pissed at his country's terrible World Cup performance -- that he tore into the players and sentenced the coach to hard labor.

According to several reports, Jong-Il was fuming at the team's 0-3 showing during the tournament -- which included a 7-0 loss to Portugal -- so he and 400 government officials called the squad into a meeting, where they were verbally bashed for 6 hours.

Jong-Il was reportedly so mad at the coach -- Kim Jong-Hun -- that he ordered the dude to perform hard labor AND stripped him of his membership to Jong-Il's political party ... probably a blessing in disguise.

On the bright side -- past North Korean athletes and coaches who've failed to produce have been reportedly shipped off to prison camps ... so there's that.

Uh...what exactly do you think "hard labor" is? In North Korea, being sentenced to "hard labor" doesn't mean he's forced to go to work at factory...it IS prison.

WHATEVER you should step out of your backyard and have a look at what is going on in the rest of the world. You "can't stand those orientals"???Those people are being controlled by their government just like you poor ignorant Americans. Maybe you should have a heart to heart with Jason, I think he hit the nail on the head with his comment. Perhaps you could become part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

Sounds like some b.s. anti-North Korean propaganda to me. Who broke this story? Bill O'Reilly?

Please tell me why that's funny. If something like that were to happen in America, I doubt it would become a joke.

Americans love to bash other countries, like America is so perfect.

@ #19: They wouldn't be pointing nuclear weapons at the US if the US wasn't threatening them every chance they get.

Then do please tell your governments to stop coming to us when ever **** goes down and you need a helping hand. After all we Americans are total bustards so why would you come to us for ANY help. I say America should roll up the sidewalks and tell everyone else on the planet to solve their own problems so we can get our own nation fixed. I can say for sure we would be slaughtered by world opinion when the first tragedy happened where we did nothing to help. Give me a break. If we are so bad, then stop coming to us for help and fix your own damn problems. We have our own to deal with too!!! You can’t have it both ways!!!

"I HOPE SOMEONE TAKES THAT SHOVEL HE'S HOLDING AND SHOVES IT UP HIS ASS."

Um, I think you'll find that's the coach, not the ****-tater but I guess the sentiment is still valid. :-D

Take note: The only way this Glorious Leader nut is going to get removed is by the people doing it for themselves. If they want to sit there like drones while he drives red hot pokers up their @$ses, there's only so much you can do.

One thing though; Beyond voting to get rid of bad leadership, please don't liken this to the ******ger BS. They lost a democratic vote fair and square as a minority vote - and you know how much they hate anything to do with the word "minority", right?

The UN needs to be bombarded by all of us insisting that when ANY country takes these kinds of actions against its athletes/coaches, they should be baned from participating in ANYTHING and ANY EVENT outside of their own country.

Everyone contact the United Nations!
