Paris Hilton Sued for $35 Million over Hair Extensions

8/11/2010 8:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Paris Hilton is being sued by a hair extension company which claims the heiress signed a multi-million dollar contract to use and promote their fake locks ... and then totally blew them off -- causing $35,000,000 in damages.

Paris Hilton Hair Extensions

According to a lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Hilton got just over $3.5 million since agreeing to become the spokesperson for Hairtech International's Dream Catchers hair extension line  back in 2007.

But according to the docs, Paris didn't satisfy her end of the bargain -- when Hairtech claims she was "seen in magazines and on television not wearing [their] hair extensions and was in fact wearing competitors' hair extension products."

Hairtech also claims she screwed them over when she went to jail in June 2007 -- because there was "an implied" term in her contract that she would "obey the law."

In fact, Hairtech claims Paris served her time when she was supposed to be at a very important "launch party" for the hair extensions.

In the suit, Hairtech claims that "more than 600 hair extension professionals" were scheduled to attend at the party -- but because Paris couldn't make it, they lost opportunities which should have resulted in $6.6 million in revenue.

Now, Hairtech is accusing Paris of fraud and deceit -- and claims they ultimately lost $35 million because of her actions.

An attorney for Hilton tells TMZ: "There is no merit whatsoever to any of these claims. We will pursue all of our defenses vigorously and any potential counter claims."

They won't get anywhere. They'll waste money trying to get somewhere, and then drop the suit.

they wouldn't have had a product if they didn't have her name. as a hairstylist no professional would use them to begin with. they were hawking them to purely on her name. they have no case, plain and simple.

Anybody who would willingly give that bimbo money to promote their product deserves to lose sales.

former HairTech employee

I am certainly not a Paris fan but the owner of HairTech is a complete fraud! The Volek's are despicable people that move from business to business scamming as many people as possible.

" ... because there was an implied agreement that she would obey the law?" What kind of ridiculous legal argument is that? That's not the basis for a breach of contract suit, that's the basis for an episode of Barney the Dinosaur.

To paraphrase that fruitcake Britney Spears fan on Youtube,
"Leave [Paris]alone!!!.... Waaaaaaaaah!!!!"

She is very nice and very pretty.
A lot nicer and much prettier than most of you folks!
She can't help it if she is "Hot" or even being a Hottie, that's just genes and chromosomes.
So there.

to at present #51 mystery and #60... Notaparazzzi :

excellent and observant points, both of you.

yes if she were in the Lynwood Hoosegow at the time, the "force majeure" contract clause (or legal impossibility excuse for performance under a contract) would control. She can't exactly show up and promote for them when the law says she must be in jailin instead and is in fact in the Lynwood Hoosegow at the time. Look at LiLo, she went to France to promote rather than obey a court order and look what she got!

This lawsuit stops short of attempting to extort money from this young lady because her family is rich!

They don't expect to get anywhere close to this amount of money in from what in my opinion is a frivolous lawsuit!

This lawsuit bares a strong similarity to rolling up balls of play dough and throwing them up against the wall hoping one or some of them will stick!

In other words, this company is suing for the exorbitant amount of money hoping to get a few million dollars.

I hope this young lady's attorney's bury this lawsuit so deep a that a "dismissal with prejudice," will be the outcome!

Geesh! This is why so many rich people die lonely or alone.

All people want is their money. Guess what people, Money can only buy material things. It is not what makes you happy!
