Even if this idiot manages to avoid jail time, he all but kissed his job aspirations good-bye. What employer would hire an employee that lost his cool as this guy did? If it had not made the national news, he might have had a chance. At best, he will be probably end up working behind the counter of a convenience store somewhere.

I am appalled by Mr. Slater's "15 minutes of fame". He is a disgrace to the flight attendant profession. Yes, we have all dealt with "difficult" passengers, and have been cursed a time or two, we are highly trained individuals that know how to diffuse the situation. Mr. Slater's actions are not normal. No matter how upset one might be. He is so out of his mind, he actually wants to return to work? He needs to have his head checked! Society has certainly lost its finesse! To the person responsible for creating his Facebook page, you should be ashamed of yourself!!! If he wanted to quit his job for whatever reason, he could've just walked of the airplane with everyone else. He is such a drama queen!

Did anyone see the comedy, Airplane? Remember the character "Johnny" in the film? Steven Slater reminds me of him. They even have the same initials. Steven Stucker played Johnny. Funny how both have the same first name.

if jet blue reinstates this man to his job, they are crazy! he not only violated company policy by deploying the slide, but he stole beer,and literally cursed out the entire planeload of passengers..now he is wanting his job back? for all of those who think he is some kind of hero..not!!..listen to the rest of the story from other passengers who said he had the cut on his head before they landed , and was rude and surly to all the entire flight..it would be interesting to hear from the passenger who supposedly cursed at him, and hit him with a bag!

I agree with the comments that Slayer will never get his job back. What Slayer did was inexcusable. His lack of control even as a professional will always be in question should he return to his prior job or any similar job. In today's "celebrity wanna be" world, all that needs to happen is some producer to offer Slayer cash to repeat his antics as a prelude to new reality show; "Divas Going Down on the Exit Chute".
