8/14/2010 9:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

It's the VIDEO everyone has been waiting to see ... the moment flight attendant Steven Slater popped open the door of his JetBlue aircraft ... and jumped down an inflatable slide.

The footage -- obtained by our friends at WNBC in New York -- was captured by surveillance cameras at JFK airport on Monday.

Steve Slater should have poured the Blue Moon beer down the slide and asked a few disgruntled coworkers to join him. Steve could have made it a slippery slide and promoted the beer in a tv commerical. People just do not think. LOL.

People need to stop giving Steven Slater publicity and stop making him into a hero. He is a law breaker who endangered co-workers. He needs to go to prison! On second thought maybe not because since he is a homosexual I guess that would be like sending him to Disneyland!

12:11 PM on Aug 15, 2010 by Johnny Lee Clary- His coworkers got off the plane using the same exit as the passengers. There was not anyone underneath the inflatable slide on the other side of the plane. An inflatable device is not as dangerous as a mack truck,in fact it was designed to minimize injury hence the plastic and air. The only person who was endangered was Steven. He will lose his job and have to deal with the legal aftermath. But what about the passenger whose failure to mind safety regulations, disregard for hurting the flight attendant and verbal abuse aimed at Steven? Where is the airline support on behalf of their employees' well being? The passenger who facilitated this fiasco should be prosecuted.

You know I was behind him when this first came out, but seeing the video and finding out that he could have easily opened the door and walked back up the jetway makes it much more difficult. Now he looks like a great big drama queen.

You missed the entire point. There were people underneath the plane unloading baggage. Thank God they were not under that inflatable slide at the time because there could have been serious injuries. What he did was against the law, period, and it is not open for debate. There are no witnesses that can collaborate his story about the so-called "abusive" passenger. There is no air;line support for this drama queen because he broke the rules, violated the law, showed blatant disrespect for his employer and used foul abusive language in front of the customers. Anyone who supports him using the fouls vulgar language he used especially in front of kids on that flight should be horsewhipped. Like I said, jail would be appropriate except being homosexual he would love it too much.

If you look closely, you'll see the slide deploy on the left of the aircraft, just behind the front windows. It's gray (thought they were yellow), and a man jumps onto it a few seconds later. The action is all in about the middle third of the video.Dumb move, there appeared to be some movement in that area just before the slide comes out.

I think TMZ should add a "DON"T CARE" button to every story they post.... this site has really gone downhill!

His lawyer said there was no endangerment of human life, because Slater — a flight attendant with about 20 years of experience, looked to make sure nobody was on the ground before deploying the slide

NOW I WANT TO KNOW WHY THESE 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WERE ONLY USED TO CHECK IF ANYONE WAS ON THE GROUND AND FOR NOTHING ELSE.

AND OUT OF WHAT WINDOW DID HE LOOK?

STEVE SHOULD THANK HIS LUCKY STARS THE LAPD DID NOT "HANDLE" HIS LITTLE "SITUATION" because otherwise he would not be out socializing, making new friends and having "SO MUCH FUN"
