Jayson Williams -- Another Year Behind Bars for DWI

8/20/2010 4:45 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Former NBA star Jayson Williams just got sentenced to a year behind bars for his DWI case ... but that sentence will have to wait until AFTER he finishes his current 5 years hard time for the shooting death of his limo driver.

Jayson Williams Sentenced to Jail

Williams was arrested for DWI back in January after he slammed his Mercedes-Benz into a tree in New York City.

Moments ago in Manhattan Criminal Court, Williams -- through his lawyer -- plead guilty to DWI and was slapped with the 1-year sentence, and he also has to pay $16,643 for the tree he hit.

Less than two months after the DWI, Williams began serving his five year sentence for the 2002 limo driver shooting.

16Gs for a F'ing tree are you kidding me?? Was it gold plated WTF.. Seriously.. Gotta love liberal judges musta had Greenpeace contributing to his campaign. Hmm sure that 1yr was for Treeicide? WTF The guy is already serving time for his crime and if this was a 1st DWI offense Id say the lawyer has a case for excessive sentencing. Aint making excuse cuz the brothers got some serious issues but why kick a man while he's down seriously..

sixteen grand for a tree? Mahogany... Or are trees now in danger of extinction? I would like to know what kind of tree it was? Did the tree have a lawyer too. That really was crazy.

5 years in prison equals a person's life? I'm sure he will throw out the race card. He and his "highly paid attorney" will be screaming and crying about if he was a white professional athlete he would have gotten probation.
