Axl Rose Storms Off Stage after Flying Bottle Incident

9/2/2010 1:58 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Axl Rose shut down a live concert in Ireland last night to yell at the crowd after multiple people fired bottles onto the stage during their performance ... and it was all caught on tape.

Rose -- who literally called for his band to stop playing their instruments during their first song "Welcome to the Jungle" -- warned the crowd that he would pack up his stuff and leave if they kept up the shenanigans.

Of course, the crowd started to boo ... and Rose eventually walked off stage.

We're told the crowd was pissed because the band started their show more than 90 minutes behind schedule.

Eventually -- after several concert officials apologized to crowd -- Rose and company came back on the stage and finished the show.

Axl might have fewer people throwing things at them if he did not keep them waiting for 90 minutes. Respect people's time and they will respect you. Axl, do you know where you are? You're in the jungle and you're gonna get hit by a plastic bottle!

the reason Axl does this is because first of all he pays the person to throw the drinks on the stage to create drama and to get some publicity which duh you just gave him it was all planned

I worked as a hand at a show with Hoobastank and Velvet Revolver, and they were about 90mins late to the stage that time, too (That's 90mins between the two bands). So it's not just an "Axl Mentality". Granted, Scott Weiland was still warming up with intravenous equipment, but the rest of the band couldn't have cared less. The crowd was still friendly and receptive, and they put on a lazy show and cut more than five songs out of the setlist instead of letting the show run a little late (which the venue offered to allow). Lame, lame, lame. I like a few GNR songs, but I would never pay to see them after witnessing the bratty behavior from the rest of the band and knowing that Axl is even worse.

What is with douchebag "fans" throwing **** at performers recently? I say let security open a can of whoop ass on them, I am on the side of the performer on this one. Plus all those fans who saw the person that threw the bottle...

Travis Amel

It was all over the British press that the festivals organisers had to remind him that if he was 60 minutes late for his performance, he wouldn't get paid. He laughed in their faces and arrived on stage 58 minutes late. Apparently this was amusing to him; and probably fulfilled some kind of 'rock and roll' value he pertains too.

Festivals are notoriously difficult to organise in the UK. The office that makes the decision to grant the licence can be appealed by local residents; mainly by noise pollution after a certain time of the day. I suppose he feels his performance doesn't relate to the governing bodies of English law.

I wonder if he hadn't of gone back on stage in Ireland whether he would of been paid?

With an international depression, and the fact that fans have to work hard in possible low paid jobs for a ticket; perhaps he should reconsider his personal approach to his performance. Unless of course his drug use clouds his judgement and therefore he ends up in situations like this one...

I would just like to say Last weekend here in England was Reading & Leeds festival. On the Friday they turned up an hour late for the performance at Reading, then when organisers had to cut their act short, due to the fact that they were so late, Axl was not at all happy about this.
Again on the Saturday they were 35 minutes late when they arrived on stage in Leeds. My daughter was there with her friends, she tells me Axl didn't show any enthusiasm whatsoever, he didn't apologise to the fans for being late, and then he continued to do a foul mouthed rant at the fans, when again organisers had to cut their act short.
Does he not realise that organisers have to keep things to a tight schedule? If they decide to turn up late for the gig, then surely, the fault is not down to the fans. Yes, they will have been well paid to do these shows, but what about the fans that paid good money (£185) to see these idiots, only to be short changed because G&R didn't seem to care that they were late. Is there any wonder, the fans were so P****d off.

If I had paid my hard earned money and waited 90 minutes, just to know that I had to leave in 30min. to catch a ride home, I would have probably thrown my date at him.

Saw them in Oslo earlier this year. I was really hoping for the best, but it was really really bad. I dont think people would have mind the waiting so much if they were good when they actually came on stage.. but its bad.. the band is ok, but Axl only has a fraction of the voice he use to have. I will never pay money to se him perform again.

No surprise being late 90mins, at least they weren't 3 hours late like they were when they performed in Winnipeg way back in the early 90's.
