MJ Cemetery Charging 3 Bucks to Leave Gifts

9/15/2010 8:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

It's gonna cost Michael Jackson fans if they want to continue leaving gifts inside the King of Pop's mausoleum -- because TMZ has learned the cemetery is now charging a special $3 MJ delivery fee.

Michael Jackson mausoleum gift fee.

According to sources at the infamous burial space, Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, CA has decided to take down the stage where fans were previously allowed to place gifts -- and are now enacting a new gifting policy ... so long as fans pay the price and abide by the rules.

Effective immediately, cemetery staff will take gifts for MJ inside the mausoleum -- where fans are still forbidden from setting foot -- for a $3 fee ... oh yeah, as long as those gifts are flowers.

Anything else -- teddy bears, posters, picture frames, candles -- will get dumped ... and if they run out of space inside, we're told excess gifts will have to brave the elements outside.

UPDATE: The cemetery tells us "Anyone who purchases flowers, for any decedent, can request that the arrangement purchased at Forest Lawn is to be placed at an interment site."

And why exactly is it that Forest Lawn is infamous? Huh? Because Michael Jackson is buried there - is that why?

I love Michael but those toys should be given to needy kids. Some fans need to really get a grip. It's totally possible for your heart to turn cartwheels daily over Michael w/o disturbing FL all the time.

ITA with #5 Please call the group out by their name. The Original Fans of Southern California led by Erin Jacobs. I say GOOD for Forest Lawn. Erin and her Cronies, make the entire fan community look like idiots. When in fact she is the minority not the majority---it just so happens that this new fan that didn't care about Michael prior to his death is causing the most trouble and acting like a fool in front of the world...I hate that she lives so close to forest lawn where she can show her behind so often.

Erin We know how you like to run to TMZ so hopefully you'll see this GROW UP and act like a lady not a twit!

I won't be surprised if GOd starts charging Michael rent in Heaven! When it comes to Michael Jackson, everyone finds a way to get their pie!

I find FL's new "policy" dispicable. I bet staff steals some of the gifts anyway.

you need help. Sadly enough MJ is gone. I love this. Mike still has all of you haters talking about him. Keep talking about him, that will keep his name up in lights. He had more power in his name than you haters will have through out your whole lives.

FL has no respect whatsoever to fans and abusing us since last year! FL, stop acting like you are s(hit)! You are a funeral home that house dead celebrities! Michael's mausoleum is paid for so stop acting like you are doing people a favor!

It's NOT the $3 fee that is an issue, trust that for Michael, we would walk the fire...but then you knew that, hence, your new policy! This is dispicable! ARE JACKSONS WATCHING THIS ABUSE, ARE THEY PLANNING TO STOP THIS BS? We hope this $3 fee BS is just another BS from TMZ. Shake yourself and come to your f'ing senses FL! Know your place, perform your duties and shut up!

"Love is a funny thing to describe. It’s so easy to feel and yet so slippery to talk about. It’s like a bar of soap in the bathtub –you have it in your hand until you hold on too tight.
Some people spend their lives looking for love outside themselves.
They think they have to grasp it in order to have it.But love slips away like that wet bar of soap.
Holding on to love is not wrong, but you need to learn to hold it lightly, caressingly.Let it fly when it wants.Love is what makes life alive, joyful, and new. It’s the juice and enemy that motivates my music;my dancing, everything.
As long as love is in my heart,it’s everywhere." Michael Jackson

FL should donate the gifts to MJ's favorite charities instead of dumping them, as TMZ put it. MJ would have told them to do so.

i totally agree!

In order to make the fans stop, it's too low.

Is the author sure the money doesn't go to the family? Namely the no talent, "ride the gravy train" bloodsucking brothers and the "do anything for a buck" father? There has to be some more gimmicks they can come up with to generate more money from Michael's death. By the way whatever happened to the Vienna Concert one of the brothers was promoting? You know the concert that "Oprah, and Obama were sure to attend"? How about the father's new record company that he was able to introduce at Michael's funeral? I am sure the Jackson family gets their cut of the $3.00 and then gets a tax deduction from donating any gifts that are left at the grave - providing they don't try and sell them on EBAY first. Real fine citizens.
