Paris Hilton Pleads Guilty in Cocaine Case

9/20/2010 11:35 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Paris Hilton just pled guilty to two misdemeanors in her Las Vegas cocaine possession case -- in a move that will keep her out of the slammer ... if she can stay out of trouble.

Paris just fessed up to misdemeanor drug possession and obstructing an officer -- and in exchange she must pay $2,000 in fines, complete 200 hours of community service and complete an "intensive" substance abuse program. She will also be on probation for one year.

The judge informed Paris that she has been given a one year suspended sentence -- which means if she is arrested for anything other than a minor traffic violation, she will spend 1 year behind bars.

The judge then warned Hilton, "The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria."

Hilton was busted back on August 27 after cops found her in possession of less than a gram of cocaine.

This woman has already spend like a month in jail for something or another--she knows what jail is like. It doesn't seem to be a deterrant for her when she smokes pot in a car and carries coke in her purse. Plus, she has had scrapes with the law since the jail stint. I read somewhere that she is using this as a wake-up call. Why this one vs. all the others?

I think parents need to use Paris Hilton as an example to their children of how NOT to act and live. In that sense, she is a great example. No one with any type of brain has anything positive to say about this person.

At the very least she perjurged herself when she said the purse/drugs were not hers. Any 'average' citizen would be in jail. Even though it is a stress on the taxpayer, I say put her in jail. Let her do one year. I know she will miss all her 'charity' work, but the clubs can do without her for a year! Maybe LiLo can pick up for Paris while she is in jail!!

Why can't she stop striking a pose? Why didn't they cite her for being annoying??? She's no better than Snookie.

Won't work. She'll have more trouble within the year. Probably will never go to jail for it more than likely will od.

I think its a kick in the gut for the cops more than anything else. It devalues their work. But hey, dont hate the player, hate the game.

She was continually shaking her boobs at the judge. Glad it didn't work.

The judge should have wiped that "HO SMURK" off her face with JAIL TIME!...Her parents should be so proud of their trash daughter!

Riiiggghhhttt! If she gets in trouble again she'll go to jail for a year. uh huh Am I really supposed to believe that's going to happen? The Teflon Princess keeps getting off, over and over and over again. She'll NEVER do hard time. It doesn't work that way for the wealthy and we all know it!! I wish the judicial system would be honest and just tell the truth. Lying gives us hope and there really isn't any such thing for the common folk.

LOL, reading these comments have been good entertainment. Something a lot of you don't seem to have figured out yet, NO the Cocaine was not her's and she didn't lie to the police. In reality she knew who the Coke belonged to and knew that they wouldn't get the same break, so instead of telling the cops who it really belonged to, she fell on her sword for her friend knowing that she would only get a slap on the wrist. And anyone who believes this garbage I am spewing needs a serious reality check.

Paris will not go to jail for violating her probation as long as she stays out of the State of Nevada for a year. Nobody will know that she isn't doing community service, and if she breaks the law in any other State then Nevada will have to extradite her. It costs a lot of money to do so and will not be done on someone who is guilty of a misdeamenor.

The only good thing about all of this is that I won a bet with my wife who said that celebrity justice does not exist in Nevada. So OJ got the book thrown at him in Vegas, but he was also considered guilty of murder even though they couldn't convict him. Judges are less likely to let someone like OJ off easy, besides he was convicted of a violent crime in Vegas.

Well...do you actually think the snotty nosed brat actually learned anything? I doubt it.

Pathetic member of society, and waste of humanity.
