Was it an indoor heater? Or one of those patio heater/lights shown in the photo? Looks like it was a shack even before the fire.

Man that sucks. But glad everybody (including the dog) got out. You can always rebuild a house, can't rebuild a life.

She sounds like a Darwin Award working to be won. Some people make the short list just by living as they do. Can't wait to see what she does next!

Why does one need a heater in Malibu? You folks don't know what cold is!

How does a has been afford a place on the beach in So Cal? Sounds like an investigation is needed. Rikki better hire Gloria Alred!

Is it that cold in CA that you would need a heater in September? And what's wrong with the ones you just plug in the wall? I would never want to mess with kerosene or something like it and if I had to I would certainly do it outside.

What a dump! The land value is much higher than the building ever was. Probably an insurance scam to get a new house. Proper investigation is required. As lousy as that house looks, the fire may well have been intentional. Let's get on top of this potential arson.

I bet she was paying several thousand dollars a month for that place and it doesn't come with a heater?

Huh? A heater in the summer? And why fuel it in the house and how did it catch fire? Sounds really strange.

It doesn't look like the house was very nice to begin with, but considering the location, I bet it cost a LOT. Maybe she can make it look better with the insurance money she'll (hopefully) receive.

And geez, use a safer heater!
