Michael Jackson's Fortune -- That's How He Rolls

9/23/2010 10:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The Jackson family compound where Michael's kids now live with Katherine is worth $4.2 million, according to new docs that list some of MJ's treasures ... like his fleet of Rolls-Royces.

The Jackson Estate just filed a partial inventory of the tangible property MJ left behind when he died. Here's how it breaks down:

-- Encino mansion ... $4,150,000
-- Encino condo ... $315,000
-- Desert Auto, LLC (in CA) ... $676,317
-- 1998 Rolls-Royce ... $100,000
-- 1990 Rolls-Royce ... $55,000
-- 1988 Rolls-Royce ... $40,000
-- Several bank accounts ... $444,260

Total: $5,780,577

It's a nice chunk of change, but nothing compared to the real jackpot ... MJ's Sony Music Catalog -- which has been valued as high as $1 billion.

Yes, like where is NEVERLAND RANCH? He still owned a part of that doesn't he? And the contents of Neverland were never auctioned so where are they? He owned a house in Ireland that he was renovating and some property in Las Vegas that was recently sold. Yes there are assets missing from this. His last home was rented and so were the furnishings.

Michael even owned the rights to the "Happy Birthday" song.

Anytime someone sings it, especially on tv, his estate is supposed to be paid. I've heard anywhere from $200 to $400 a pop. That was some genius at work when he bought those rights!

I will, like alot of others, never forget where I was and who was there when he did the "moon dance" for the first time. Thatwas the most awesome thing ever at the time! Everyone was making total a$$es of themselves trying to do it. Ha!

Go MJ! Michael Jackson truly was a king. So sad he had to carry all that financial stress the final years of his life. I can not wait for his new album, Michael Jackson's Vision. http://www.michaeljacksonvision.com

The most important part of your whole story is your last statement..the Sony catologue and what it's worth. MJ was killed for that by the greedy execs at Sony and by AEG and Colony. Funny how just after Michael embarassed Tommy Mottola and he was canned the child molestation charges came about. If you go back, timeline the whole thing, it makes sense..all of it. Dr. Conrad Murray is just a fall guy in all of this. I hope one day the truth will prevail and MJ's name is cleared. He deserves it. Maybe that's what TMZ should report about and not all the BS that the media reported on all those years. Michael was already 'dead' years ago, the media had killed him inside..they killed his soul.

nice picture of michael.
yes daphne , i agree..
that catalog had a lot of people plotting against michael
and i really believe they were behind the 05 stuff,
i think mj was right about there being a conspiracy to get that catalog.even the contract rowe talks about seems to be a way to ensnare that catalog.
poor michael
between sitting in neverland which many seem to want to develop ..
just loving it for its beauty , not it potential
and the catalog..
must have driven the money guys crazy..

The only people that ever though he was guilty was narrow minded bigots that believed everything the media told them and never bothered to do some research on their own because they were to stupid to read.

Michael Jackson was just a wonderful man. He was a true genius. No one well be him. Its so sad about all the tabloid trash that is out there about him. With so much false information. As a reader you must be smart enough to understand what is the real truth and what is trash. You can tell over the years how much pain he was in with all the false information out there about him. You could tell the magic in his eyes were no longer there. It was all filled with pain. Its so sad I hope he is finally happy and in peace. I love you Michael J Jackson. I really miss you!!

Didn't he also own the entire Beatles catalogue? That should carry a hefty price tag as well .

That man is bad! Go on Michael, with your bad self. I knew he had money. The media was always trying to cruxify this man. I'm glad that his character is being vindicated.

I miss him, so much.

RIP, MJ
