Meg Whitman on Gloria's 'Evidence' -- Not So Fast

9/30/2010 7:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Meg Whitman's husband just admitted it's "possible" he saw the letter that Gloria Allred claims proves Meg is a "liar" -- but Meg's camp now claims ... the letter actually HELPS Whitman.

0930_meg_griff_doc_launch_BN_02

Earlier today, Gloria produced a letter the Social Security Administration -- sent to Whitman's house in 2003 -- a letter Meg said she nor her husband ever received.

But Gloria fired back ... the letter contains a handwritten note from Meg's husband to the housekeeper -- proving they not only received the letter, but knew their housekeeper was in the U.S. illegally.

Meg's husband, Dr. Griff Harsh, now says while it's "possible" he scribbled on the letter ... "it's important to note what this letter actually says: 'this letter makes no statement about your employee's immigration status."

During a phone interview moments ago, Meg's camp further explained how the letter "completely contradicts the conclusions" made by Allred ... CLICK HERE to listen.

So we gotta ask...

Ever notice how well Republicans lie and back pedal when caught? The letter proves without a doubt her husband - at least - KNEW the SS number was a fake and there was a good chance the maid was illegal. To imagine any other explanation speaks volumes about your own IQ or agenda.

Oh please, Meg Whitman is no Republican. She's just running on the Republican ticket. She's a classic RINO.

so Meg and her husband should have fired the maid when they got the letter? Is that what Gloria and the maid wish had happened? Then she would have been fired/arrested years ago. THat's what they want???? This whole thing makes absolutely no sense.

exactly! allred and this lady have no goals whatsoever except a tiny bit of back pay and some mileage. That all equates to these two trying to cook up a scheme to target Whitman's election. Plus the fact that the evidence Allred appears to vindicate Whitman.

Allred should get her act together and post any REAL evidence that shows notification to Meg that this person was illegal.

This is just dirty politics as usual with the democrats and republicans. Pretty much why American politics is so pointless. Both parties are a complete mess where there's little interest in any sort of truth.

Another thing i don't understand is why this lady wasn't blocked from using this SSN until she proved that she was entitled to use it. Basically she used this SSN for 9 years without repurcussions.

Where the heck is the government accountability? They knew something was wrong.. why didn't they shut her down?

Whatever

Speaking on behalf of the residents of the state of California, I wish to tell you all what that smell is. It's the smell of a bonfire of a pile of one-hundred-and-nineteen-million-dollars. About what what she is spending on her campaign. Those of you who live here with me and know this woman for what she is, realize that Meg Whitman is a bored, rich housewife who wants to be governor. And she won't be able to buy the job. She didn't vote in 28 years! For the love of Christ, that alone disqualifies her. She doesn't give a rat's tiny ass about civic and civil policies as evidenced by blowing off every election possible for 28 years. Not even a city council member? A president? A mayor? Anything? Any vote? No. She's a phony.

If Meg told the truth it would be that she didn't care at that point because she wasn't running for governor then and hadn't yet considered that as a future option.

"Had I known that I would eventually run for governor, I would have never hired an illegal. I would have just had my eBay employees clean my house on their days off."

The fact is even though the letter does not say anything about immigration status it does mention that the social security number does not match. That alone should have been a red flag to both Meg Whitman and her husband to look into who they had in their home and taking care of their children. She could have been a felon or anything else. Had her and her husband looked into it they would have found she was illegal. It may not be criminal but is definitely very irresponsible for a person who wants to take control of a state that is teetering on bankruptcy.

Wake Up

This "Nicky" should be arrested for social security and driver license fraud and then deported to whatever rock she climbed out from. She has broken so many laws it is ridiculous that she would even come forward on a clerical issue. If Gloria makes some type of martyr out of her we are all in big trouble and will continue to be salves to the CA unions. Perhaps we all can have government jobs, retire at 50 and move to the beach....

I don't think she should have fired her just based on that letter. But she should have investigated after getting that letter. If she would have investigated after getting that letter she would have found the woman was illegal and then could have fired her. It was very irresponsible of her (not criminal) but extremely irresponsible.

The maid was provide to Meg by a temporary service, that places the responsibility on the temp service to ensure workers comp, work status within the U.S.A. is legal and taxes are paid, "not" Meg If the maid provide a false social security number she should stop crying and be incarcerated for fraud just like any other American citizen. Why people use temp service and/or sub contactors it is to remove liability, time in reaching back ground checks, drug checks and you pay a higher cost to the temp service for those services.
After this ask why California has a budget problem.

Still that puts Meg at the bottom of the list in this fiasco. First in line is Nicky. Next comes the Employment Agency that represented Nicky as being legal to the Whitmans. Then even a third tier of the government agency that didn't outright stop Nicky from using a false SSN and another agency that provided her with a drivers license for ID.

meg still ends up being slightly irresponsible with all those other people at the front of the line. As to whether that hurt her chances as a candidate for governor... no idea... luckily i don't live in California... LOL

I thought taking someone's mail was illegal? why did she not follow up as she was asked. why did she wait until Whitman announced she was running for Governor to tell her of her status. If she had told her in 2003 she would no doubt be a citizen now or at least have a green card. What is she being paid to rat out her employer of 6 years. Allred never does anything for free. Just ask Tiger Woods. Ask Arnold. Just a sleazy attempt on the part of Allred to make Brown look good. She would have done the same thing to Jerry if the opportunity presented itself.

I would have never voted for Meg in the first place.... but come on. Gloria Allred is a peice of s*** attention whore. Also, I am so sick of illegal immigrants coming to this country, getting all this s*** handed to them, then throwing a fit because they want more. Are you kidding me?! I can only imagine what would happen to me if I crossed over into Mexico illegally, got paid well for a job for 9 years, then turned around and did what Nicky is doing here. I cannot believe she hasn't been deported. She's probably got some anchor babies. She had a $23 an hour job for 9 years, and I'm sure she didn't pay any taxes on it. Now she wants more! Send this trash back to Mexico already!

I'm wondering why the fact that this maid is a liar and in this country illegally doesn't seem to matter in this case.

The law that was broken was illegal entry into the United States -- should there have been follow-up? Yes -- in fact, she should have been terminated until such time that she could produce a green card. Although, a driver's license and Social Security Card are acceptable to produce and sign an I-9 form. Guess the Whitmans are just too nice and tried to help (with a great salary) a hard working woman trying to support her family. Just proves the point that good deeds do not go unpunished -- once the woman advised that she was illegal, they were compelled to fire her. Wonder who does Gloria's housekeeping????

Another thing i realized. If you look at Nicky's original employment agency do***ents... Nicky provided a Social Security Card and the Agency made a copy of it and probably provided it to the Whitmans.

The Whitmans had no reason to believe that lady forged do***ents when they obviously have a copy of her SSN card that appears to be real.

As a layperson, how are we to know that someone even could have provided me with fake do***entation after an employment agency screened this lady?
