TMZ has confirmed Tony Curtis has died of cardiac arrest.

Tony Curtis died.
The legendary actor passed away Wednesday in his Las Vegas home.

As we previously reported, Tony -- who suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease -- was hospitalized in July near Las Vegas after suffering breathing problems while making an appearance at a local Costco.

Curtis starred in such classics like "Some Like It Hot" and "Spartacus" -- and was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "The Defiant Ones."

He was 85.

Not many Mohicans left. A true raconteur. Isn't it true he came to acting relatively later in life?

How sad, another legend gone. One of my all-time favorite movies is "Some Like It Hot", always enjoyed watching his films...such a talented actor/artist. He's going to be missed.

#18 - Eric (" 85 is a good long life, you know? I'll never understand why people get all "heart goes out to the family" an "I feel bad for the family" on things like this. The dude had a great life. They should be dancing at this funeral.

Nobody lives forever,but Tony Curtis will hang around for a while in the vast collection of movies he did and in his art.

Get a grip, people.")

Really?? It doesn't matter how long a person lives, their family will still grieve for their loss. It still hurts to lose that person, even if you expect it. Have a heart. Yes, people should celebrate his life, he was fortunate to have had a long one...but that doesn't mean they shouldn't or wouldn't mourn the loss of him either. I think you should show some compassion and get a grip yourself.

TMZ, did you miss the fact that Eddie Fisher passed away last week or did I miss your post? RIP to these two from Old Hollywood. There were times they were both cads but they were truly talented. Not like the "stars" of today, no talents!!

Tony Curtis was great. I loved "The Great Race" - a film he did with Jack Lemon, Also with Jack,and Marilyn Monroe, "Some Like it Hot." Elvis even said he dyed his hair blcak to look like Tony Curtis.

Tony was one of the greats, but never really got the accolades he earned and deserved. Truly an unsung legend. I knew Tony back in the 1980s. He was always kind, always generous, even in his low moments. I will always have fond memories of him.
RIP Tony, you are a legend, and one of the best.

People console one another, that's why.

I'm sure they didn't want to lose him even after 95 years!

Sounds like a total disregard for others.

How old are you?? So everybody can have their dancing shoes on, ya know?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's simply not all that sad when someone who has been sickly for the past few years dies at 85. It's not a disregard for his life. It's acknowledging that life does end. This wasn't a tragedy by any means.
My heart goes out to his family. We lost my father last Tuesday to the same thing. I know how devistating it is, and hope that the family can find peace.
So sorry to hear this.
P.S. TMZ, can you soften the blow alittle and not use the word "dead". Have more sympathy for his family and fans.
You people are a bunch of sanctimonious phonies. The very purpose of TMZ is to tear down celebrities and catch them at their worst moments. So, when they pass away at eighty-****ing-five, now they get a pass into sainthood? Now it's all "Oh, you farted rose petals, Tony Curtis and now God almighty has a new angel to watch over us."
Please.
Loved his work - such charisma, the camera loved him. Sad to hear of his passing. He was from the era of Rock Hudson and Audrey Hepburn etc, all long gone. Is Doris Day the only survivor from that era? (Mickey Rooney doesnt count, he was from the era before them lol)
God bless Tony
