New Claim: Michael Jackson Supported His Dad

10/5/2010 1:25 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Jackson secretly supported daddy Joe Jackson ... according to new legal docs.

1005_katherine_joe_EX_GETTY_TMZ_01
In legal docs filed in Joe's wrongful death case against Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael's former alleged manager, Leonard Rowe, wrote a sworn statement in which he claims Katherine acted as Michael's agent, funneling money to Joe for support.

And Joe's lawyer, Brian Oxman, wrote his own declaration in which he claims he prepared financial docs for Michael during his 2004 custody battle with Debbie Rowe.  In those declarations, Oxman claims Michael disclosed he was giving Katherine $50,000 a month in the early 2000s and later it went up to $66,000.  Oxman says Katherine used part of the money to pay for Joe's living expenses.

The legal docs are being used in the wrongful death case to prove Joe has standing to sue -- in other words, he must show Michael had been supporting Joe during his lifetime.

Michael's camp had no comment.

janalal4, I agree with everything you said. When I said she would keep better track of the spending I meant she would have control over Joes spending.

You are correct though about the home, just what was she using the money for if she wasn't paying the house loan.

Of course Michael supported Joe, he was his father. Maybe he did it indirectly through Katherine because he felt like she would be able to keep track of the money better. Maybe he did it that way because he didn't want to deal with Joe directly. Then again maybe Katherine was the "middleman" because Michael didn't like worrying about money. Who knows how or why it was done that way? But there was no doubt in my mind that Michael was footing the bills for both.

Now, the important thing--this could give Joe some sort of legal advantage in his suit against the estate. While I believe that Joe deserves a small allowance, I wouldn't go overboard with it; that money rightfully belongs to Michael's kids. But for crissakes the man is 80 years old, like him or not he should get something...lord knows everyone else has.

Joe may have been a less than perfect father, he may be missing a humane bone, but I doubt Michael would want him living like a bum in his golden years.

That's old news. Michael gave Joe and all his deadbeat siblings money via Katherine.

I think the only people getting money from michael easte is his 3 kids... Not katherine or his brothers or Joe.. Joe shouldnt get anything. and just because micahel gave his mom money she CHOICE to give it to joe. once that money was his mom it was her to deal with.. What i dont get is why they are even together anymore since they lived apart for how many years... they are crazy for trying to live off of michael for this long after his death it makes me sick to think about it

if this man joe dont stop tring to get money for his dead son, i will turn in his real last will that he leaves every thing to me until hes kids hit 25, do you remember joe on fathers day you call michael and ask him for one million dollars and he say no, he hated you joe, and i have proof he did not ever gave you a dime, do you remember joe you told him that you made him who he is today, and michael told you, you made the jackson 5, and he made MICHAEL JACKSON....

___________________________________________________________

Was it a million? When I listened to the recordings (admittedly, it's been a while) I thought he said that he had demanded $300K. I know MJ said to Glenda, that he told him "NO." then the verbal argument insued between MJ and JJ that you allude to, and accurately retell.

MJ told Glenda, he might send $100K to his mother, and he suspected she would give it to him (JJ), but that if she did that would be HER business as he gifts the money to her to do with whatever she wishes ... " ** siiggh ** "

So yeah... he highly suspected that KJ was supporting JJ with his money, but no way would he do so directly himself. I'm fairly certain he thought that in order to completely cut off JJ he would HAVE to entirely cut out KJ... and THAT he didn't want to do. FUGLY, emotional blackmailing of both KJ & JJ = MJ Catch 22 in this situation.

Cut em BOTH off, declare BOTH incompetent and hand them over to Diana. Not Rebbie, not Janet... NO ONE of the Jackson family. Havenhurst is paid off, has always been owned by MJ... leave KJ that - she can sell it for MILLIONS on top of her side money she's got coming in (tons) and she can give THAT all to JJ and be done with it, but GET THOSE KIDS OUTTA THERE.

A sworn statement from either Oxman or Leonard Rowe is a joke in itself. Rowe is a convicted felon...sued by both R. Kelly and Ne-Yo for selling shares of the Double Up tour without permission from either entertainer. Rowe has also spent time in prison for check fraud. Leonard Rowe's book "What Really Happened to Michael Jackson" is a distorted booke full of misconceptions to promote his own ebook and conspiracy. Oxman is not a crook, but he sure was screaming loud and clear on the day Michael died that he was a drug addict. Oxman was also fired by Mesereau for falling asleep in the middle of the '05 trial. A sworn statement from either means absolutely nothing.

We have all suspected that Katherine was funneling money to Joe for years. The question is, the AMOUNT of money is huge. $50/$60...K a month??? As far as the Encinco compound that Janalal mentioned, my question would be this: Was Michael still giving that much money to his mother at the time of death? The sworn statement says that MJ was giving Katherine that amount of money in the early 2000's, but MJ died 9 years later. I have often wondered about why the Encino compound's mortgage had not been paid, despite the fact that MJ had been advanced $$$ from AEG. Where did that money go? And more importantly, WHERE WAS JANET??? Michael was not the only successful child in this family, but Janet is the next highest bread winner. Why couldn't Janet help out?

So what if Michael indirectly gave money to Joe?? That was his dad and he publically stated quite a few times that he loved his father. I mean if it weren't for his fathers drive to make something of his boys and family there probably never would have been a Jackson 5 or a Michael Jackson period! I think the guy is actually a sleezeball and I agree with previous posters on katherines allowance prior to Michael's death and why on earth would Havenhurst be in foreclosure if you were paying the bills. It seems from very early on Jacksons became notorious for not paying back loans and

Definition of 'spin' :

"...Katherine acted as Michael's agent, funneling money to Joe for support.

No... accuracy in reporting, Harvey. Apparently TMZ is exempt. lol

That line needs to be re-written to speak the truth:

"Katherine acted AS IF she was/were Michael's agent.."

HUGE difference. He never legally assigned her as his agent to support Joe through him/her, nor legally set up funds for Joe, before or after his death. Period, and case in point.

Wonder if they, can or could, suppeona the conversation recordings between MJ and Glenda that in MJ's own voice and words declares vehemently that he was not, nor would ever, financially support JJ of his own accord.

Well, mighty Levine... what say you?

I think I love you.... I've said the same thing from day #1... I agree w/ you 100%....

I will also say, IMO, I think JOE JACKSON, JERMAINE JACKSON, RANDY JACKSON, LEONARD ROWE & BRIAN OXMAN are CULPABLE in MJ's death.... more so than ANY corporation.... & these GREEDY FOOLS had been squeezing MJ financially FOR YEARS.... these MORONS just didn't count on MJ leaving his affairs in the control of a team of HIS OWN choosing.... They REALLY BELIEVED they were going to run the show when it came to MJ, his legacy & his money upon his death.... LOSERS!!!! MJ may be dead, but boy, did he get the last laugh.... Personally I think all the talk about how MJ "forgave" & "loved" certain family members is BS... One of the MANY things MJ told the press because he thought it sounded good & he felt was good for his image... Fans seem to equate the Jackson family dynamic w/ their own, & that's an injustice to MJ.... the poor guy had been USED his ENTIRE life & never knew any different... I think MJ just tired to COPE w/ the hand he was dealt.... & the ONLY "Real" love he ever experience was between him & his kids... This story is SO MUCH SADDER than corporate greed.... It's about a "FAMILY" willing to EXPLOIT one of their own at ANY COST for their own SELFISH motivations & comfort...... JOE JACKSON, JERMAINE JACKSON, RANDY JACKSON, LEONARD ROWE & BRIAN OXMAN, their is a SPECIAL place in HELL or you, gentlemen....

EDIT:

Wonder if they, can or could, suppeona the conversation recordings between MJ and Glenda that in MJ's own voice and words declares vehemently that he was not, nor would ever, financially support JJ of his own accord.

(Adding) Would the judge accept the recordings as admissible?

Well, mighty Levine... what say you?
