Oksana's Lawyer Pulls Plug on Oprah Interview

10/5/2010 7:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Oksana Grigorieva will not be doing Oprah Winfrey's show, but contrary to a CNN report, it's not because the judge gagged her ... it's because one of her lawyers said, "No way."

1005_oprah_oksana_EX_TMZ_01

There's a report out that Judge Scott Gordon ordered Oksana to pull the plug on "Oprah" ... we know that's simply not the case.

Judge Gordon did not order Oksana to stay clear of "Oprah."  Period.

Sources connected with the case tell us there was a conflict between Oksana's lawyers -- Anne Kiley, her family lawyer, was strongly against Oksana doing the interview.  Sources tell us ... Daniel Horowitz, who arranged the interview, wanted her to do it -- as did Oksana -- but ultimately Horowitz deferred to Kiley.

Does somebody want this judge to recuse himself and off this case? Perhaps, but why? Who wants him off this case? Is this judge friend's with Horowtiz? Ox get's her first win in court w/child support when DH becomes involved. Now Mel is ordered to pay more attorney fees by this judge. There is the Oprah/People Magazine fiasco? I have so many questions. No answers. Somebody help me.

yep, I was so wanting that she-devil to dig herself deeper in a hole. her attorneys got their work cut out for them after she claimed she didn't know about any money... I liked that piece where her attorney claimed that she was the poor innocent lamb, sitting in that big huge room with all those scary lawyers... using big words, and she was too frighten of those big bad men to ask any questions while they were cutting her the deal of a lifetime.

I don't care if she was able to ratchet it up to 21mil, that dumb chick would still go back and try to pump more from the well.

She was just complaining of being destitute about a month ago, how the hell is she paying these high-powered attorneys. I;m pretty sure I figured out their strategy. They are just going to keep going after Mel and asking for more and more until he caves in and settles for something around what she passed up in the beginning. They'll get their cut, the extortion charges will be dropped by the DA, for lack of sufficient evidence (BS, but that's Hollywood justice) and everybody will fade away in the sunset.

She had better get all she can, because there anit enough sex in the world worth hooking up with this broad... but there's a sucker born every minute... that she can latch onto and tap into his stash while she squirrels her's away.

Who'sThat

who the H3LL is this chick to have needed 20 attorneys for this case? and to have Mel pay 500k for the cost of child custody case? that is just totally unfair...this judge needs to do something but so far nothing...of course he apparently didnot give the whole 850k asked for but 500k is still a lot!

ROL article:

EXCLUSIVE: Mel Gibson Ordered To Pay Oksana's Former Lawyer More MoneyEXCLUSIVE: Mel Gibson Ordered To Pay Oksana's Former Lawyer More Money
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted on Oct 05, 2010 @ 03:00PM
Mel Gibson has been ordered to shell out even more money towards ex Oksana Grigorieva’s legal fees, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Judge Scott Gordon has said that Gibson must pay Oksana’s former lawyer Manley Freid an additional $250,000.

"Freid was asking for almost $850,000, this doesn't include the $250,000 Mel was previously ordered to pay,” a source with knowledge of the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “Judge Gordon slashed the almost $850,000 to $250,000 for Oksana's former lawyer."

During their ongoing custody battle over their infant daughter Lucia, Mel will be footing Oksana’s legal bills- which are allegedly more costly than his own!

“Mel's legal bills are a fraction of what Oksana's are,” the source added. “He has paid a little over $300,000 since this nightmare began to his family law attorney."

26. Oksanas lawyer reported to CNN that the judge for a custody case prevented the Oprah interview. Which sounds like a lie when asked to comment the same source states "no comment"

Now this TMZ story states the two Oksana lawyers agree not to do Oprah... that's more than one stroy leaked to the media. Which one do we believe? I actually trust Harvey more than CNN on this matter because it's an entertainment story and I don't think CNN staffers have 100 people chasing down the facts on this one, lol.
Way to go TMZ for finding (what may or may not be) the facts.

because he just want his hands on this ICON TRUST!
you know -killing two flies at one shot
1-hoping Trope will drop Oksana as a client

Oksana would give a kidney to be on Oprah's show, I'm guessing the brakes came from the Judge, not her every changing legal team.

Of course Horowitz spins this as his idea, his ego wouldn't allow anything less.

Her lawyer pulled the plug?

REALLY??

For some reason, i don't believe that one. I personally believe it was the judge. THAT makes more sense and is MORE believable than her attorneys pulling the plug!!

Canook -

#23 is Speigel. she used the same firm to firm two different cases. A bit confusing because she added to the one she filed against Mr. Oriti.

Prabably already on this thread but just wanted to be sure.

Anne Kiley works for Trope and Trope. She is a family law attorney. And she has been practicing since 1990. She's went to school in Michigan.

Found this article with some interesting quotes from Ms. Kiley, when she represented for a short time Britney Spears.

I am particularly found of this one:

"The first amendment rights aren't absolute. We aren't trying to control the paparazzi, we are trying to control what we can control. We've heard nothing from the respondent (Kaplan) in his papers or arguments as to why it is that attorneys need to make statements to the media."
