Toni Braxton

Bankrupt Again

May Owe $50 Mil

10/7/2010 10:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Toni Braxton has filed for bankruptcy again -- claiming she owes somewhere between $10 million and $50 million in unpaid debts all over the country ... including DMVs in TWO different states.

Toni Braxton bankruptcy.
Braxton -- who sold more than 40 million albums in her career -- just filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in California ... and in the docs, the singer claims she's only worth somewhere between $1 mil and $10 mil ... but she could have up to $50 mil in debts.

In the docs, 43-year-old Braxton lists a ton of creditors to whom she thinks she may owe money... including:

-- AT&T
-- The Four Seasons Hotels
-- Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
-- Various medical bills
-- DirecTV
-- Neiman Marcus
-- The William Morris Agency
-- Tiffany & Co.
-- Orkin Pest Control
-- The Internal Revenue Service

-- BMW Financial Services
-- ADT Security
-- American Express
-- Flamingo Las Vegas
-- Mesa Air Conditioning
-- Nevada Power Company
-- Screen Actors Guild
-- The Westin
-- Wells Fargo Bank

Braxton also claims she may owe money to the City of L.A. Parking Violations Bureau -- and the DMV in both California and Nevada.

Braxton has a storied history of financial problems -- she filed for bankruptcy back in 1998 ... and earlier this year, the IRS filed a lien against her for $396k.

Seriously

For those of you saying she has medical bills due to health problems and not having health insurance, boo hoo! I earn far less than she does and I'm paying for my own health insurance. There is a reason they call it insurance. If you are too damn cheap to pay the premium, you will have to pay the price when something goes wrong.

Gee, I'm sorry for her. NOT! These celebrities who file for bankruptcy disgusts me. Frankly, anyone who files for it because of mismanagement of their money or living beyond their means disgusts me. These people frankly get to gyp people to whom they legitimately owe money. Doesn't look like she paid anybody. She's been through this before and should have had enough sense to avoid it again, but I guess she thinks Bankruptcy is the gift that just keeps on giving.

SERIOUSLY !!!!!

WAKE UP CALL >>>>

Maybe she should just come to the realization she has no talent, which is reflected in her ticket/cd/show sales AND that in turn means she can't pay her bills, which in turn reflects the collection agencies bills, which reflects lawsuits, etc etc etc.......

She's dumb and I don't care who wants to go against me -- your dumb too. She went through bankruptcy before and her husband helped bail her out. Oprah sat on t.v. and told her how she needed to learn how to manage her OWN money. The first time Toni blamed her managers.

Then you get a SECOND chance at money and you blow it!?! How dumb are you? If she ends up homeless and in the street, I would not care. She has talent and looks -- she had an opportunity most of us would never have. Heck, she has a commercial about autism that tells YOU THAT how one and one hundred million would likely get a record deal after she was discovered at a gas station! I'm disgusted! And people stop blaming the country, stop blaming presidents she can only blame HERSELF!

If I had even a freaking 10th of 50 million I would be on top of every dime!

CONCERNED

The hard working taxpayers will be stuck with another deadbeat who can't learn to manage her money. Try working for a living. Put yourself on a budget. Chapter 7 means the companies are out this money so they in turn have to go up on everything to make up for their loss. I think the bankruptcy courts need to get tough on these repeat deadbeats.

Do you think the companies she stiffed will eat the losses? They are passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices so yes, her shopping habits are our business.

Yeah, blaim it on Bush & Cheney, lmao.

Seriously people, this is about personal responsibility. If you choose not to act responsibly this is what happens. Nothing the government did made her buy more stuff than she could afford, her own ignorance and/or bad management are the likely culprits.

Bankruptcy is one of the leading reasons wew are in the hole. Thousands of people file chapt.11 every year, and in turn the people they owe get screwed and raise rates to others. If everyone got onto the bamkruptcy train, we would all be living in caves, scratching our heads and wondering where all of the money went. There are people who are in need of the bankruptcy system, but when people frivously overspend, even when they have enough money to last a lifetime, they shouldn't have the right to blow off their bills.

Oh! So that's how you do it. Spend, spend, spend, declare bankruptcy, then go on a massive buying spree and just declare bankruptcy again. Great way to get freebies.
