Ex-USC Football Star: I Want Nothing to do With Them

10/11/2010 9:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

It's no secret that NFL rookie Taylor Mays harbors some bitterness toward his former USC coach Pete Carroll -- but during last night's Sunday Night Football game, dude took a shot at the whole school.

During player intros -- where players typically name the school where they played college ball -- Mays didn't say USC ... and instead mentioned O'Dea High School.

As you may know, Mays blamed Pete Carroll when he fell to the second round in the NFL draft -- claiming Carroll misled him about his draft-ability.

Now, with all the other drama surrounding the school -- seems Mays would rather not have anything to do with it.

@Jana, boo freaking hoo. I feel so bad for Reggie Bush. USC is now bowl ineligible for 2 years because of his actions. So Pete Carroll possibly knowing (which was never proven, btw) is more of a crime than actually taking money you aren't supposed to?

And before you get all high and mighty about them "turning their backs" on poor little Reggie, maybe you should do some research and realize that the NCAA sanctions actually stipulate that USC must disassociate themselves from Reggie and OJ Mayo. It's not their choice to do it. It's the NCAA's mandate.

Taylor Mays

Mays comes from a wealthy family. He was just giving love to his high school. Pete the liar will never keep a guy like mays down.

This post is stupid. Get a life. Mays was just at the school last week visiting with coaches and players. He is not the first player to say his HS instead of his college.

This story is bs. I'm a band member and Taylor Mays showed up at our annual rally outside of Union Square in San Francisco for the weekender. He told the large crowd of fans and alumns that he loved SC, it was a special place for him and that he would always be a member of the Trojan Family.
