'View' Stars Fight with Bill O'Reilly ... Storm Off Set

10/14/2010 1:07 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

In a fit of rage, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar angrily charged off the set of "The View" this morning in the middle of a screaming match with Bill O'Reilly over the mosque near Ground Zero ... and moments later Barbara Walters railed on the women for being unprofessional.

Tempers flared on both sides as O'Reilly argued that the mosque has no place near the World Trade Center site because "Muslims killed us on 9/11."

Just as the women stormed off stage -- a rattled Walters proclaimed, "You have just seen what should not happen ... we should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking off stage."

Walters continued, "I love my colleagues, but that should not have happened."

Whoopi and Joy eventually returned to the set ... though Joy did not return to her usual seat, located right next to Bill ... instead sitting on the end of the couch.

BTW -- we think both shows should announce the results of this poll.

Those two clowns can't win on substance so they run. Actually, those two have never said anything of substance and thought. By the way, just why is Behar on television? Whatever someone saw in her it must have been back when the The Brady Bunch was on.

Hey Joy and Whoopi did you a have family member killed in the World Trade Center? I didn't think so. If you had, you'd damn sure have a different opinion about building that mosque there. You two have to be the most ignorant idiots I have ever seen.

To all the clueless & ignorant people muslims did not kill Americans. Terroist did. So I guess Timothy McVeigh did not kill Americans as well it was catholic/agnostic person. Don't BLAME THE RELIGON. I got no love for the VIEW however or O'Riley. Move on already 9/11 was a very sad day in history but we have to move on.

orielly, is right! just out of respect they should not build. joy has a closed mind and her show is an example of her having a preset notion about everything. she never gives someone with opposing view any consideration, she doesnt want the truth, just a platform to give her oppinions. whoppie just wants to be seen as being for underdog even when underdog is wrong. these ladies all make millions and yet they think the public is so stupid as to think they are one of us. we may not have millions but we have enough brain power to consider both sides of an issue before we make our minds up. and orielly, is right on this.

@stfu crybaby apologists

So the orchestrator said it was done in the name of Islam.

The Crusades were done in the name of Christianity. Over a period of hundreds of year more than 10 million people were killed, possibly significantly more IN THE NAME OF CHRISTIANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Islam isnt the problem. The crazy faction of Islam is the problem. Christianity wasnt the problem. The crazy interpretation of Christianty was/is the problem.

This isnt about being liberal, it is about understanding that the actions of one should not condemn all. Should we condemn all American because of what one does overseas? Should we condemn all Venezuelans because Hugo Chavez is crazy? Should we condemn all straight people because one outed the gay kid at Rutgers University?

That is what you guys are doing here!

Most important thing is that each are entitled to their own opinion and each deserve to express that opinion and be heard. O'Reilly can be straightforward in his comments. Because he has a different opinion is no reason for the panel members to walk off--they invited him to be on the show, knowing his views are different than their's. Whoopi and Joy were childish and unprofessional. Especially surprised for Whoopie because she usually talks up the fact that we are all individuals with our differing beliefs and we should all respect and learn to live with that.

Bill O'Reilly has some truth to what he said but his wording was completely inappropriate. That is why Whoopi and Joy got mad. How can someone say "Muslims killed us?" That is like saying African Americans are on welfare. NOT ALL African Americans are on welfare. I'm surprised someone as educated as O'Reilly would say such a stereotype. Not all Muslims are bad. The extremists are bad.

When you start to get really, really irritated with someone sometimes the best thing to do is leave the situation. However, everybody is entitled to their opinion. There are plenty of people who believe things that I think are absolutely ridiculous, but that is their right. And just like I extend that right to others I expect others to do the same for me. Both sides are entitled to believe what they chose, but disrespecting each other by calling names and acting like children is never called for. A person is not a 'pin-head' because they chose to believe one thing or another. This is America and differing points of view and the right to express them is what makes us a unique and great country in the world. We all need to respect that right and, therefore, respect each other.

#108, indeed, the Mosque is a slap in the face to America and the thousands who died by this horrendeous act/crime.
I do support Whoopi and Joy for walking off.
Looking at the View right now and O'Rielly is on.

Al-Waleed bin Talal, a member of the Saudi Royal Family, is the main contributor to the efforts to construct the controversial Islamic mosque near ground zero. He is also the 2nd largest shareholder of Fox News (aka News Corp.) through his Kingdom Holding Company, owning 7% of shares. Perhaps Bill should look for another news company to work for, if he feels so strongly on this issue. Regardless, the View cast should not storm off the set if they disagree with a guest’s “views.”

I think we are all just frustrated with everyone in government these days, and it is very hard to discuss when we all have such strong opinions on what is going wrong. Are there ANY politicians out there that are interested in doing what is right for the country instead of what is right for their own pockets?????? I would like names...PLEASE! We are a frustrated nation at all the greed and corruption going on in government, that is is very hard to have a sensible discussion about anything these days. Do honor and values even have a part in government anymore?
