Michael Lohan -- Am I On the List?

10/18/2010 6:15 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Lohan showed up at the Betty Ford Center today to try to see his daughter Lindsay, and although he was turned away -- believe it or not -- there's still hope Michael might get inside.

0921-media-removed-britney
As we first reported, Michael is trying to visit Lindsay as part of Betty Ford's "Family Week" -- and he is technically family.

Sources say Michael was turned away by a guard at Betty Ford who referred him to someone in charge of the "Family Week" list.

We're told Michael went to his nearby hotel room and made the call -- he's waiting for a call back. .

If she would just see her father, even if she doesn't give a rats-ass about him, it would make her & his life so much easier..................... blood is thicker than water

At Betty Ford, the patient gets to pick who she wants at the family sessions. If he's not on the list then he's not on the list. A patient can't be forced to see anyone. It's probably a good thing in this case. Too bad they can't keep Dina away also.

WOW...this man is so scarey how he hops across the country and stands in front of any papps camera and spews his rhetoric, must be absolutely HORRIBLE what he has done behind closed doors with his family, if he does this nonsense on a daily basis, sad , sad, I really feel bad for his children, and I don't care for the mother, thats for sure, poor Lindsay, she just doesn't stand a chance if she doesn't get outta dodge when she can! Both parents are toxic, but he is just plain SICK.

GIVE it up already, Looser Lohan(Mike). Lindsay has enough problems, she doesn't need you, dragging your SORRY BUTT back & forth to see her.
Let her heal & stop being one, get a life that is not part of LIVING through your daughter. The mother is another sad excuse for a mother( 1/2) of the word. Take care of the younger daughter, God willing she won't end up like her older sister. My prayers ARE for LINDSAY, no one else who puts the F in Family & dysFunctional.

All this pontificating about I think she should see him or not, is ridiculous. She's an adult, she sees who she wants and she won't see who she doesn't. Michael Lohan isn't "entitled" to see her because he fathered her 24 years ago. There are no entitlements to your adult daughter. Is Michael still sitting in that hotel room waiting for a call back from Betty Ford? Hahahah, what a dope. He KNEW he wouldn't get it; no one is that stupid. He went anyway for the PHOTO OP and the story he knew he'd get right here on TMZ. Watch, he will be out first thing tomorrow talking about Dina again when Dina doesn't control who Lindsay adds to her visitor list - Lindsay does and she couldn't have made it clearer to him that he is her "ex-father." It will stay that way until he changes his behavior (behavior that is in serious doubt of ever changing).

Blood is not thicker than water. Parents can cross the line and be very toxic. Sometimes the only thing to do if to not have them in your life any longer. It is sad that this happens but it can make your life so much better. I speak from experience.

All I ever wanted to see is Lilo get better. I have been encouraging her to get help for the last few years. There is hope for her. And it is good to see she finally decided "herself" to get some long overdue treatment.

I truly feel her entire family loves her and only wants the best for Lindsay. They may show their love a bit strangely... however, no one wrote the book on how to do it right. Everyone makes mistakes ... let's all hope this is the last one for the Lohan's right now.

By Lilo accepting her responsibility for her substance abuse actions pushes her lightyears ahead from where she was back in 2007.

I pray she sticks with it. I would prefer she spends 12 months in a real program that actually does work. BFC leaves a lot to be desired. They do not publish their success ratio ... which makes me question their effectiveness. However, it is what it is and "whatever it takes" is fine.

No one forces one to abuse drugs and booze. It is a choice to pick up the glass, place the straw in your nose, pipe in your mouth, foot on the gas pedal, walk into a nightclub, pose naked in photos and movies, yell at your wife, slap your spouse, etc. etc. etc.

Choices have both good and bad consquences.

No one is immune.

As soon as Michael Lohan steps up for once in his life and acts like a real man, then perhaps they can make amends. I'm not going to deny that it would be better in the long run for Lindsay's health, for the sake of her recovery and the chances of successful long-term sobriety, but the ball is in his court here. He must stop acting like a jackhole first. There's already a story on TMZ that people have paid a lot less attention to which refers to Lindsay being disgusted with her father's actions and appalled by the way in which he continues to behave in the media. He has to stop all of this madness or else reconcillation won't ever be possible.

And Betty Ford's record of success is largely irrelevant. You get out of just about any rehab what you chose to get out of it. Rehab fails because you want it to fail. Lindsay's previous trips to rehab failed because she went for all the wrong reasons to begin wiht and she more or less wanted them to fail.

I do believe that she went this time because she wanted to go, unlike her prior rehab stints. She'll never get her life back, or her career back, or escape this vicious probation cycle unless she sobers up for real this time. I think she realizes that now. She's been through the worse six months of her life, for certain. At some point, it has to sink in.

Unfortunately, Nobody lives in a vac***, and I don't think there's any way Lindsay could afford 12-months of rehab. I wouldn't neccessary disagree. Perhaps she could use long-term care. However, long-term care would likely bankrupt her. She can't afford to pay for rehab for a year while, at the same time, being 100% unemployed for a year.

Ernie, you don't even know what you're saying. And you're contradicting yourself. You preach tolerance, then intolerance; enlightenment, then unelightenment. You're all over the place. You're a mess. I don't even know what to say. You're just way too inconsistant to many any sense. At the end of the day, however, It's better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Perhaps you should have taken that into account before your proverbial face on this thread.

I swear, I argue with guys like you every stinking time I go to E! Online. When it's all said and done, you're pretty much a troll. And that's just the way it is. A troll's gonna do what a troll's gonna do. Can't argue with them. Can't reason with them. Just got accept them and move on.
