A rep for the Bosleys tells TMZ Tom "died of natural causes or specifically, from a brief battle with lung cancer."
The rep adds, "In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society."
He was 83 years old.

I was a teenager when Happy Days started, and I never missed an episode. I'd give anything to be able to go back to those days. "Mr. C" and the rest of the cast gave me hour after hour, week after week, year after year of entertainment and enjoyment. No member of the cast was more important that Tom Bosley, and you could just tell that his every day persona was very much like his TV character. We truly are losing all of the great, older entertainers, and most of them can never be replaced. Godspeed, Mr. Bosley, and thank you so very much for wonderful memories that will be with me for the rest of my lifetime!
I have watched you many years I always thought that you were one of the best actors there were and sad to here that your gone and I know that the cast of happy days miss you very, very much but there love will live on
REST IN PEACE MR. BOSLEY, (CUNNINGHAM). I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU. I LOVED THE SHOW HAPPY DAYS.

Tom Bosley, for those of us who grew up in the 70s, was considered "America's Dad". His jovial demeanor, distinctive voice, strong values, and all around good nature made him well-liked by anyone who watched him. He was a great man. RIP Mr. B, now you may enjoy the heavenly rewards and crowns you laid up for yourself while here on earth.
The best, thanks for all, great father, excellent actor, soon we'll unite, the american`s actors should learn about be a good actor and person like this Sr. Tom Bosley.
I was born in '81...but I always LOVED (and still do to this day) watching all the "Happy Days" re-runs. He was a great actor and will forever be one of the top 5 TV dads of all time in my book. "R-I-P, Mr. C." and to quote a lyric from the Happy Days theme song: "GOODBYE GREY SKIES...HELLO BLUE!" =)
