Quaids' Dog -- Saved From Puppy Pokey

10/28/2010 12:10 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The great news is Randy and Evi Quaid's innocent victim -- their dog Doji -- was spared from a potentially fatal stay at a Canadian dog shelter ... the less great news is Randy and Evi picked him up.

1027_doji_3_splash

The seemingly always-on-the-run Quaids were reunited with Doji when they freed him, legally, from the shelter in Vancouver -- right after they themselves were released from an immigration holding facility.

As we first reported, Doji had been locked up at the shelter -- where he could have been put to sleep -- ever since last week when his owners got busted on an outstanding warrant for a felony burglary arrest in Santa Barbara.

No word if Doji's retained legal representation, but we're guessing counselor's advice would be, "Run!"

Shouldn't they be wearing nose and glasses so the "Star Whackers" won't recognize them?

Hasn't anyone yet figured out the obvious?
The dog's name is "Doji", pronounced dee-oh-gee. Get it, D-O-G?
The hand of Randy is obviously present in the naming of the innocent dog. Sophomoric and repetitive humor is Quaid's forte, and this tired "cute dog name" should be retired forever. Every idiot has named at least one of their dogs "Doji", and Randy seems proud to count himself as one of those idiots. Well, if the shoe fits.....

For a second, I thought Brian Posehn had come to liberate Doji.

The way he was deferring to that guy (a precious flower in a stripey sweater), I totally think they had something going on.

#4 Tiffany:

Its a Cattle Dog. Its a pure breed dog. I have three. They are GREAT watch dogs. Its a Australian breed. They were breed with dingo's.

They also come in red, this is considered the blue variety. They are full of energy and drive cattle on ranches and work on farms. And NEVER get tired!

I admit they are a little different....but a more loyal dog you can't find. The longest living dog on record was a cattle dog.

True fact.

Our (red color) cattle dog like that saved my step-mom's life from a cow, protecting its baby- that knocked her down and had stepped on her knee-cap. Once trained, these dogs don't need to be told what to do. Pooch enjoyed a fat T-Bone steak later. The dog hated rattle snakes (snakes in general) and had been bitten several times, enough so, the vet said 'don't bring him back anymore, he's immune.' Usually he'd drop off a dead "present" (snake) in the yard, lol.

Good for the shelter holding on to the dog for them. You can't beat having "man's best friend" in your life. I say let them stay in Canada if that is what they want. They evidently aren't too happy in the US.
