Kanye West:

HELL NO, I Won't Perform on 'Today'

11/12/2010 2:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Kanye West claims there's no way he's going to perform on the "Today" show later this month -- as he was scheduled to do -- strictly because of the way Matt Lauer and Co. handled his interview about George W. Bush.

Just hours ago, Kanye went to his Twitter page and pounded out the following message, "I'm not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. I'm so happy the world got to see just a small piece of 'the set up.'"

As we previously reported, Kanye butted heads with "Today" over an interview they aired on Wednesday -- in which Kanye said, "I would tell George Bush, in my moment of frustration that I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist."

As of yesterday, the people at "Today" still expected Kanye to do their show on Black Friday -- but now a rep tells us Kanye's officially out.

Kanye is justified in not performing on the Today Show…it wasn’t that Kenya was upset that he was interrupted by the video clips of the Swift Taylor/ Bush incidents; it was the overt psychological meaning of what was being said in Real-Time vs. pass regrets. Matt was trying to pull as a fast one, since everyone knows images, especially negative images have a more dramatic impact; Kanye just called Matt on his game. And yes, I think Kanye was wrong for interrupting Taylor’s pivotal moment at the VMA, and the backlash was justifiably deserved. Frankly, if Bush think what Kanye said “Bush don’t care about black people” was the lowest point in his presidency, I think he truly needs to reevaluate more pressing issues on his presidency, like the lie about WMD, 911 - the promise he had made to American people for the hunt of Osama bin Laden and bringing him to justice, the $700 billion bank stimuli bailout and yes, the infamous fly over New Orleans (victims of Hurricane Katrina). Of the 8 years of the Bush Administration, and the lowest point of his presidency was being ping as him being racist during the aftermaths of Hurricane Katrina and his administration slow response in the rescue efforts of U.S. Citizens and he felt it was imperative to highlight this in his book and under the same token breath have the audacity to say he doesn’t want the publicity, is truly pathetic, - I could give a rat ass about his feelings.

Kanye is a hemorrhoid to society! All he ever does is cry about everything. Oh boo hoo! What really pisses me off is how he always seems to have the need to play the racist card! Get over it already Kanye! You are nothing more then a rambling idiot.

This delusional man seems to think it's OK to disparaige others. Shove it Kanye. You are only seeking drama for your own ego and song sales. Why shouldn't you be asked about the smack you've talked? You can dish it but not take it?? Pathetic.

Yes, I agree with everyone - Mr. West needs to get over himself and stop thinking he is the center of the world.

I think a good journalist might have found something current to discuss in the interview. That was old news, and petty to bring up after this long.

#72 Wow. Such mean spirited remarks. Can you posters show a little compassion? Mr West was apologizing for what he said.

Did you read the story? He is saying he did not mean it and was pressured into saying that. So Once again he is a jerk.

You may not like everything Bush did but he put more Blacks in his Presidency than any previous or current President. Also he spend way. way more on Aids in Africa that ANY President past or current.

You may call him a lot but a Racist is just wrong.

If those that know state and federal laws knows The President CAN NOT send troops into a State unless requested by State Governor. Wrong as it is it's the law. Once the Democratic Governor signed the request they were there. Just so happened it was 3-4 days after. What she was waiting for is beyond anyone's reason.

This douche bag continues to show . . . his true colors! He plays the victim well and honestly NO ONE IS BUYING this childish act anymore! I have never liked him and all he does is just prove my points that once a victim always a victim! Leno nailed him when he asked what his mother would think of his behavior! He still has not 'dealt' with the death of his mother and trying to go and write about it on a new album, then going out and trying to redeem himself with his tweets, etc., no one buys this load of CRAP that this DOUCHE BAG dishes out! He wants it only one way and that is HIS WAY - it does not work that way you DB! You put it out their - you get it back! Advice to those that think this artist is an artist with integrity, don't buy the BS - it is all a game and he is just a CON-MAN playing everyone single one that buys his albums and idolizes his music! He is a man in great pain and he needs therapy and time out of the spotlight to get his head out of his ass and start behaving like a MAN and not the BABY/CHILD/IMMATURE IDIOT he is playing on stage PUBLICLY!
