11/12/2010 3:44 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has obtained an LAPD document called "Receipt for Property Taken Into Custody," dated July 15, 2010.  Judge Scott Gordon ordered Mel to surrender his weapons, after Oksana filed for a domestic violence restraining order.  The order to surrender is standard operating procedure when domestic violence is alleged.

Here's what Mel surrendered:

-- A blue steel, semi-automatic 9 millimeter Glock handgun

-- A blue steel, semi-automatic  9 millimeter Beretta handgun

-- A blue steel, semi-automatic 12 gauge Benelli shotgun

-- A blue steel, lever action Winchester rifle

-- A magazine for the Glock

-- A magazine for the Beretta

-- A speed loader for the Glock -- which allows someone to load the gun quicker

Oksana claims Mel waived a gun and threatened her life during their January 6 blowout.  Mel denied doing any such thing.

O.K., with their exemplary research and reporting skills, can the TMZ staff explain what a "speed loader" for a GLOCK is? Can they also learn how to properly spell/write "GLOCK"?

Much has been made about a "speed loader" being one of the items turned in with the handguns & long-guns.
A "speed loader" is a device to insert, simultaneously, cartridges into the cylinder of a revolver, whether 5,6, or 7-round capacity (there might be 8-round speed loaders for the larger Smith and Taurus wheelguns, but I don't recall seeing any). What comes with a Glock, and many other semi-auto pistols, is a "Mag-Loader", used to depress the follower and spring, to allow the next cartridge to be inserted with minimum effort into the magazine. All this is done with the magazine extracted from the pistol.
Note to SayWhat @ 11/12-1238...Magazines are loaded with cartridges. If you just put "bullets" into them, the bullets would most likely fall out, or just cause a major jam, since they are just one component of a cartridge, along with the "brass", the "powder", and the ignition-system, aka the "primer".
