Aquabats Concert -- Youngest Stagediver Ever?

11/15/2010 3:06 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

It was like a ska Bar Mitzvah at an Aquabats concert in St. Louis last night ... when the band's lead singer grabbed a little boy from the crowd ... and LAUNCHED him into his very first stage dive.

Moments after the kid landed in the sea of people -- a grown ass man launched himself off the stage and BARELY missed smacking the kid in the head.

So we gotta ask ...

I cant believe this! I think it is stupid of the band to do this and for that father to let his son do this!

Stuff like this has been going on at concerts for decades, so why take a clip and post it without context? Oh, right... It's TMZ. Yeah, that's not a valid source.

Harmless Fun ya buncha frikken PRUDES!!!! This was NO MORE DANGEROUS than when a kid gets *body slammed* onto their parents bed! My hubby and I ROUTINELY wrestle with and launch our 17 month old son onto our bed and this is the SAME DAMN THING! And you people who are being little bitches about this?! YOU are the reason WHY all our kids are growing up like PANSIES!

Get a life ya sorry whiners.

The Aquabats have been doing this kind of stuff for years. What you didn't see is the long pep talk he usually gives prior to be sure everyone is going to not let the kid get hurt. The crowds for these events are typically very protective when they do these kinds of things, I doubt anyone would've let that kid get hurt.

Don't read a book by it's cover, one of the best bands ever!

This is no more dangerous than a trampoline in a back yard, playing football, skiing, falling from a jungle gym, etc.

Kids are put in just as dangerous situations all the time, just because this isnt a normal situation for children doesn't mean it is any more dangerous.

Dear TMZ, good job on getting all of your facts wrong. I was at the show and the kid was not pulled out of the crowd, the lead singer asked all of the kids if they wanted to come on stage. All 4 kids that went on stage, walked onto the stage from the side. The grown ass man was the kids dad and he gave permission to let his kid be thrown off the stage. He didn't almost hit the kid either. Do you actually think that the fans at the show would intentionally let the kid get hurt? There were hundreds of hand holding up a 40 pound kid. Please do your job better.

The kids at the shows always love it, and the parents are always ok with it. Christian, the singer, is an amazing guy and would never hurt anyone. Don't take ****.

They do it at every show apparently on this tour. This specific kid was at the St. Louis show last night, and the kid was 5, it was the 4th one he tossed into the crowd, AND the big dude that almost crushed the kids was the little guy's dad. They were told specifically NOT to do this at the safety meeting, but did it anyway. I was working the venue and almost had a stroke watching him throw the kids.

It was most definitely in St. Louis. It just happened last night. I was there and the dad did give permission for them to do it. The footage doesn't show the three ~8 year olds who went out before him. and the "grown ass man" is the kid's father- who safely grabbed him and held him until the pit ushered them to the edge.

And for the record, ALL parents gave permission.

And if anything, people should be more worried about the people in the pit who are catching the ADULTS- not a nearly weightless child whose whopping 15 pounds was safely distributed amongst at least 10 people.
