And on Your Left ... It's the Chilean Miners!

11/19/2010 9:40 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The rescued Chilean miners have totally gone Hollywood.

The miners and their families -- who are in L.A. for CNN's Heroes gala this weekend --  took in the local sights near Grauman's Chinese Theatre while on top of  a double decker tour bus on Thursday.

Somebody get these guys a star on the Walk of Fame, stat!

Duh

I can't imagine the strength and perseverance it took to make it through their ordeal and that is heroism of some sort (more like bravery/courage but that's dicing words) but aren't the people and engineers who got them OUT OF THE MINE the bigger heroes?

THE STORY IS ABOUT THE MINERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE OTHER HEROES WHO AIDED IN THEIR RESCUE. THIS IS NOT A BOOK ABOUT THE EVENT WHICH PURPORTS TO COVER ALL ASPECTS OF THE RESCUE.

you people are awful for making fun of them. They were stuck in a mine for like 6 months. Let them have their fun.

Where's the picture of the 2 Sanitation Street Sweepers directly behind the tour bus?? Why didn't they show them cleaning up all the greasy waste, like they do when the hogasstrashian pigs strutt the streets! Toxic is toxic! Slime is slime! What do they all have in common? Stretching their 15 minutes in hopes of fame & riches, milk it!

First of all I am glad that they all got out ok. What really irritates me....why in the hell are they waiving that flag. YOU ARE IN THE US!!! I wouldn't go to their country and waive the American Flag....How disrespectful!!!

NOW GO HOME!!!!!

And in other news, while the tour bus was going thru East LA, several of the miners and their familys jumped from the bus and disappeared into the neighborhood.

seriously. what's up with that flag? At least wave the American flag too for saving their asses and then allowing them to come here while everyone else has to wait in line.

I have to laugh lately at the use of the word "HERO", what a joke! This word has been flung around like a dirty diaper. "HERO" was held back for the chosen few. Now every Tom, **** and Harry is a "HERO".

People, they are a least "SURVIVIORS" at most. They knew that the mine they were working in was unsafe and chose to go in it anyway. PLEASE their 15 minutes of fame are up. PLEASE STOP ALREADY...

Definition of the word "HERO": A person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his/her brave deeds and noble qualities.

Chilian miners (FAIL)

Just Keepin' it real!!!

#15: Take a look at the true meaning of the word "hero"

Champion: someone who fights for a cause.

These guys only sat around for 69 days waiting to be rescued. So, in hindsight, the real heroes are the rescuers and not the miners. Hope that helps.

They are brave men who over came a bad situation. With the strength and fortitude that is admirable to all of us. They adapted to survive and took total control of their destiny. I am very happy they survived and I am proud of them.

But, they are not Hero's that is a misnomer. They were victims of an occupational hazard. They brought attention and light to the dangerous conditions of mining. Engineering wonders and efficient fast thinkers that spear headed the rescue effort, the rescuing drillers who took it to a personal level and didn’t stop until they achieved the goal they were set upon. They are closer to being heroes than the victims.

I would say that the correct label would be COURAGEOUS, more so than HERO.

I wish them the very best, but, I wonder if all of the others involved would have liked a vacation after spending so many back breaking, nail biting days effort in the actual rescue?

some who post very mean comments.....give these guys a break! 69 freaking days in hell! I would have gone MAD! They deserve any and all attention they get. I am sure they didn't think they would have survived. And now to be showered with attention. They deserve it. There popularity will simmer at some point and they will go back to living life best they can.
