Kim Zolciak

Real Pregnant,

Really Smoking

11/27/2010 10:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

UPDATE:  Kim's rep just got back to us, and insists the photo was taken October 3, and Kim did not know she was pregnant at the time.

Kim Zolciak
from "Real Housewives of Atlanta" took a smoke break while watching an NFL game a few weeks back -- it wouldn't be a big deal ... but Kim is three months pregnant.

Here's the timeline: the photo was taken in Atlanta on November 7, outside the Georgia Dome. Two weeks later, Kim and baby daddy Kroy Biermann (who plays for the Atlanta Falcons) announced they were expecting.

In case you're thinking "Maybe Kim didn't know she was pregnant when she decided to smoke" -- well, think again. Kim told a tabloid this week she denied the pregnancy rumors in October because "[I] wasn't through my first trimester -- you never know what could happen."

I have to say, this is the post below is the most ridiculous post so far on this board. What is wrong with you people? obviously this poster didn't think about what they were saying too hard. Maybe some of you judgemental posters should have been born of smokers at least those of us that were seem to use our brain and think things through before we post.

She could just use a nicotine inhaler, nicotine gum or the patch. It's the other chemicals that are the problem.
Researchers have found proof that smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of genetic abnormalities including cleft lip or palate, bowel, eyes, ears or spinal cord malformations or problems and last but definitely not least respiratory problems in the form of Asthma. Placenta abnormalities are also more common. It's imperative to keep in mind that the effect of smoking goes way beyond birth. For example an increased risk of respiratory problem development as previously mentioned, during toddler or teenage years.

Just remember Karma does come back to haunt you and when it does it comes back 10 times harder than when you dished it out.

Trust me you don't want to wish this upon anyone. I live this everyday with my kids. And again remember your statement here when karma comes back on you.

I can't even believe this is a discussion! So, I assume you all think drinking a six pack with your ciggies while 6 mos. pregnant is fine too? Because not all babies born to drinking (or coke sniffing, or meth smoking) Moms will be unhealthy. Just, MANY of them will. And they will have lasting impairments throughout their lives!

You're going to look at your pregnant friend, sucking on a crack pipe, and say 'Oh, don't judge! Her baby will be JUST fine.'

Wow, no wonder we have so many stupid people in this country!

Get off your high horse, your stress levels while you are judging and worrying about everyone else is going to ause you to drop before your time.

There is no comparison or correlation between smoking cigarettes and doing meth, crack or being a drunk. You are being histrionic and ridiculous.

I don't believe all the things you are saying are fact and based on science are. If we believed all the bs you are spouting then children born of smoker's might as well hang it up at birth because you have given them every disease possible.

If children of smoker's are born with the same diseases as non-smoker's what it really tells us is that it is all about genetics and the roll of the dice.

NOT Okay

People have smoked for year's, since there has been the cut down and degradation of anyone that smoke's none of the health risks or the deaths of people have stopped or ever slowed down.

False. In the West, as smoking levels have declined, smoking related illness has declined. While, in the Far East, China, etc, (where smoking is on the rise) rates of smoking related cancers, heart disease, lung, pancreatic disease, etc. have risen dramatically.

Well, go smoke another one! You could put that money in your kid's college savings, but why bother? You clearly don't value their long-term well being over your short-term gratification much anyway.

You'd rather risk their death, SIDS, retardation, low birth weight, a lifetime of learning disabilities, than go through a frikken WEEK of the discomfort of withdrawal! Nice!

Hey, why don't you try a little reading (you have enough brain cells for that), while you puff away:

Keep on poisoning your children! It's harmless! lol!

Im sure the baby will be fine, BUT if the baby comes out with a major health issue or deformed body she will feel quilty for ever even if smoking wasnt the cause.

Although she claimed to have been a Licensed Vocational nurse (which are not considered to be professional nurses)she should know better:
Cigarette smoke has many chemicals, including poison's like cyanide, lead, and about 60 more cancer-causing compounds.
The poison's get into mother's bloodstream, which is the baby's only source of oxygen and nutrients.
How irresponsible and selfish can a woman be.
Hope her Baby does not come out sick or deformed.

Really "Me and David"?? Smoking has No affects on the babies?? You morons are in complete DENIAL. Go out and educate yourselves. You and your stupid friends can keep your fantasy alive, all to justify your truly god awful behavior. The TRUTH IS smoking restricts oxygen flow to the uterus and blood supply to the baby. (Oh yeah, guess we don't need OXYGEN! Idiots.) Babies born to mothers who smoke are more sickly and underweight (assuming they even survive the pregnancy). Take it from me--my mom smoked and I have had lung issues my whole life.

I come to this site once a day a few times a week. There has never been a time that I haven't seen your name on every story I read.

Instead of worrying about every one's lack of brains or maturity try worrying about your obvious lack of a life. Do you even communicate with anyone outside of this site? Some real life interaction would do you some good.

Me, you're not exactly one to talk. Lately I've seen you more than.. The point is JLS has a very valid point. With today's information on our fingertips I can not believe there are people still smoking while pregnant.

Soooo many idiots here defending smoking while pregnant.

The best ones are the ACTUAL MOTHERS admitting they smoked while pregnant! All of you should be imprisoned for child abuse.

Fine, you want to play russian roulette with your own flesh and blood? You should be denied health insurance.

Check out the March of Dimes web site, or WebMD, or any health oriented site.

Women who smoke during pregnancy are more likely to have:

•An ectopic pregnancy
•Vaginal bleeding
•Placental abruption (placenta peels away, partially or almost completely, from the uterine wall before delivery)
•Placenta previa (a low-lying placenta that covers part or all of the opening of the uterus)
•A stillbirth

Babies born to women who smoke during pregnancy are more likely to be born:

•With birth defects such as cleft lip or palate
•At low birthweight
•Underweight for the number of weeks of pregnancy

This is only a partial list. Smoking Moron Mothers, wow, you are clueless.
