NFLer Drops Game-Winning Touchdown, Blames God

11/29/2010 7:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Buffalo Bills WR Steve Johnson dropped what would have been the game-winning touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers today in overtime -- but it wasn't his fault he choked, it was God's.

The Steelers ended up winning the game 19-16 ... but we think Steve Johnson has bigger problems on his hands.

Answer to poll: We don't know.
He needs help. It appears that has no clue about his purpose in life. Pray for him.
I'd like to tell him to start with, "Love God more than anything else and love your neighbor as yourself."

Tweeting God about a football play! Amazing. This guy should be in a straight jacket.

"God" gets all the praise when things go right, why not take the blame when it goes wrong? Only fair.

Obviously he has heard from folk that preach God is behind everything and when something bad happens they preach that you did something wrong and God is trying to teach you something. This is where he is coming from. Its never anything else like poor grip, slip and fall, stumble, curable and treateble illness, bad weather or anything like that, its always God doing something to you because you didnt do something or did do something to get back at you. I despise these erroneous self righteous folk and dont allow them in my ears anymore. They will have you hating God, literally. You will never see anything like the devil or cir***stance as the reason, it will always be God and thats is wrong. Hope he reads about God for himself and see that God wants good things for us. But just as parents that want the best for their kids, we cant always keep bad things from happening and they our kids make mistakes anyway and this is the same scenario, God just dont go around all day with a cape, making only good things happen to people, bad things WILL happen as it did with all the disciples and Jesus himself, and we have to love him anyway just as we do our parents. After all, we were made in his image and the parent child relationship is much like that of God and us as his children. My preacher preached on this today- Dr Charles Stanley- look for the sermon on tv in the next sunday or 2.

Well, if 'god' is responsible for everyone's caught balls and Grammy wins - doesn't that also make him responsible for all the dropped balls and Grammy losses?

I'm just saying, it goes to figure. . . . .

Are people taking this seriously? He's obviously joking. Guess he should have included an LOL for those people who are permanently stuck in the back of the class.

Exactly, if you read his tweets before today, he talks about God a lot. The guy was playing around. Sit back and relax people, its just a dopey statement on twitter. He knows it wasn't God's fault.

Go Steelers. Ratbirds SUCK!

Christianity …the belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree… Makes perfect sense !

This guy makes millions to PLAY A GAME! I'd love to take this chump to Uganda with me and have him explain to kids living in the orphanages I just came back from how God is so mean to him.

Son, God NEVER drops the ball. Buck up and deal with YOUR imperfections, God does.

I usually blame unicorns when I drop the proverbial ball in the end zone and thank elven lords when I score. Or is it elven lords when I lose and unicorns when I win? Oh fiddlesticks, I never get these things straight. I guess it's just easier to have a single imaginary being for these sorts of things.

And a big thumbs up to Robert - comment #125, 8:55 PM on Nov 28, 2010.
