Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Lawsuit Refiled

11/30/2010 9:25 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

If at first you don't succeed ... Joe Jackson has refiled the Michael Jackson wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray.

Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A federal judge threw out Joe's claim, ruling the case should have been filed in a California state court.  So Joe's lawyer has now refiled the case in L.A. County Superior Court.

Joe is alleging that Dr. Murray was negligent in administering the Propofol that killed the singer.

Joe is also suing Applied Pharmacy Services in Las Vegas, that sold the drug to Murray.

I did not see Dr. Conrad Murray walking around in handcuffs.I never saw his mugshot either. That is why I asked the questions.I hope next year the case finally goes to trial and if found guilty Dr. Murray must spend time in jail.

marie
murray turned himself in at a police station that does not release mug shots.
that is why u didnt see it , the idea being his lawyers would rather have him be remembered as the good professional man he never was..
i believe there is an older one on file somewhere from some earlier thing..
at first i was angry that they didnt release his mugshot and cuff him for the world to see like they did to mj..

but then i realized michael allowed them to do that i suppose because he WAS an INNOCENT man and had nothing to hide, whereas Murray seems to have plenty to hide..
as the truth of that trial that sneddon and others orchestrated comes to fruition, i am glad there will be pictures of michael , an innocent man cuffed like a common criminal on these trumped up charges..
as i have said before michael legacy is one of generosity , kindness and wonderful art.
sneddons and company will be of destroying a genuine inspiration to the world..

Mariah Carey kept selling millions of albums after September 2001

***********************************************************
Yes, she did aq and you want to know why?? Because Tommy Mottola was busy promoting her album because he had a thing for her! Meanwhile, Mottola was underpromoting Invincible...low budgeting videos, not asking for airplay for the singles, etc. Oh so wait...Sony has a HABIT of payola with radio stations and Mottola was NO exception. Yet, when it came to Michael's album, then there was a big problem. And you know what that was? Mottola used MJ to gain his position at Sony (after Yetnikoff left) BECAUSE MICHAEL SWAYED SONY INTO GIVING MOTTOLA THE JOB. How did Mottola thank him? By not answering his calls and basically ignoring MJ's pleas to promote the album. MOTTOLA SABOTAGED INVINCIBLE AND USED SELF SERVING NEEDS TO PROMOTE CAREY'S.

So sick of your versions of what happened to MJ. If you don't like the way he looked, fine, whatever. As for your comments, do some solid research into the man before you continue your plethora of tabloid trash.

Great Post! I never thought of Sony and payola...duuuuuhhh!!!! You're right after Mariah's decline, Sony pulled out all the stops to help her new CD. It's ironic that We Belonged Together was labeled the best song of the twenty hundreds. In December 2009,Billboard magazine voted Invincible as the best album of the decade. Others should do their research before making ridiculous statements.

btw: i thought mariah and mottola divorced in 1997 or 98???? anyway perhaps you're right and that he still had a thing for her years later. I'm not sure when mottola and sony parted ways if ever??? i know MJ was a good and dear friend to mariah during her days of sorrow and regret for marrying that evil man mottola!

Mariah Carey recorded her tenth studio album The Emancipation of Mimi (2005. "We Belong Together" was released as the album's second single in 2005. Written and produced by Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Manuel Seal, and Johntá Austin, the song was inspired by 1980s R&B and soul. Its arrangement is built on simple piano chords and an understated backbeat, and its lyrics chronicle a woman's desperation for her former lover to return after their separation.

Following a decline between 2001 and 2005, Carey achieved major worldwide success with "We Belong Together" as the song topped the charts in Australia and the United States (for 14 non-consecutive weeks). In the U.S., the song also repeatedly broke many BDS Airplay records and was warmly received by critics. It won Carey a number of industry awards, including two Grammy Awards in 2006. The song has been certified platinum by the RIAA, and has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Billboard magazine listed "We Belong Together" ninth on The Billboard: All-Time Hot 100 Top Songs and the most successful song of the 2000s.
Billboard listed "We Belong Together" ninth on The Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs and second on Top Billboard Hot 100 R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Blender ranked it fifteenth on its 100 Greatest Songs of 2005 list. Slant Magazine ranked it 2nd on their best songs of 2005 list. In Australia, the song finished 14th on ARIA Top 100 Singles of 2005 Chart.

Between 2001 and 2003, Carey's popularity had substantially declined and many had considered her career over. However, after being released to North American radio on March 26, 2005, "We Belong Together" became the biggest success of Carey's career and for her label. The song spent fourteen non-consecutive weeks at number 1 on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 — after making its debut at number 81 — and on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It had major cross-over success, becoming the first song to simultaneously occupy the number 1 position on nine Billboard charts on the week ending August 6, 2005: the Hot 100, Billboard Hot 100 Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Pop 100 Airplay, Top 40 Mainstream, Rhythmic Airplay Chart, Hot Dance Club Songs, and the Hot Ringtones charts. One week earlier, it had become the first song to top eight charts concurrently. According to Mediabase and Nielsen BDS, "We Belong Together" broke several airplay records in the United States: it gathered both the largest one-day and one-week audience total in BDS history, reaching 32.8 million and 223 million impressions respectively. To date, "We Belong Together" has been listened to more than 8 billion times in the U.S alone. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA. On Billboard Hot 100 Year-end Chart of 2005, the song was declared the number 1 song, a career first for Carey. It's also ended at 2 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Year-end chart of 2005. The song was also declared the most popular song of the 2000s by Billboard magazine.

"We Belong Together" achieved success in several major non-U.S. markets. It debuted at the top of the Australian chart, where it remained for two weeks. It reached a peak position of number 2 for three weeks in New Zealand. Promotion for the song was strongest in the UK, where it debuted at number 2 behind Tupac Shakur's "Ghetto Gospel", selling 39,436 copies, only missing the top spot by 392 physical and digital sales and has now sold a total of 240,000 copies in the UK. Across Europe the song was a moderate success. It reached the top five in Spain, Ireland, Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland, top ten in Norway, and top twenty in France, Belgium, Sweden, Italy and Germany. On the Australia's ARIA Top 100 singles end of the year chart of 2005, "We Belong Together" was ranked 17 and 10 on the Urban singles end of the year chart. It was certified 2x platinum in Australia by ARIA and platinum in New Zealand by RIANZ.

@ Chico You're right. I remember 2001 for Mariah very differently.

The reviews Glitter received were very negative and it became a box-office failure. In the United States, it was released in 1,196 theaters and was the eleventh highest-grossing movie over its opening weekend, taking in $2,414,596. It was originally scheduled to open over Labor Day weekend, but the film was pushed back three weeks when Carey was admitted to a hospital for extreme exhaustion. The film eventually grossed $5.2 million worldwide, less than a quarter of its $22 million budget.

Carey stated in 2002, "It (Glitter) started out as a concept with substance, but it ended up being geared to 10-year-olds." The film was panned by critics, and many labeled it as one of the worst films of all time. The Village Voice proclaimed, "For her part, Carey seems most concerned about keeping her lips tightly sealed like a kid with braces, and when she tries for an emotion—any emotion—she looks as if she's lost her car keys." Roger Ebert spoke relatively well of Carey's individual performance saying, "Her [Carey's] acting ranges from dutiful flirtatiousness to intense sincerity...." However, he ended with, "And above all, the film is lacking in joy. It never seems like it's fun to be Billie Frank."

At the 22nd Golden Raspberry Awards, the film received six nominations including Worst Picture and Worst Screen Couple [Mariah Carey's Cleavage], and one win, for Carey who received the Razzie for Worst Actress. The accompanying soundtrack, Glitter, became Carey's worst showing on the charts. The first single, "Loverboy" peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Two follow-up singles did not crack the Hot 100 at all. The album itself initially struggled to go gold in the U.S. Since then, it has been certified platinum. The record company Virgin/EMI dropped Carey from the label due to the poor reception of the album.

Furthermore, 20th Century Fox decided not to release the DVD in the USA, giving up their rights to the international distributors, Columbia Pictures.[

In an interview in 2010, Mariah Carey stated that she believed that the film's flop at the box office was largely due to the soundtrack's release date – 11 September 2001 – the same day as the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and The Pentagon.
