'16 and Pregnant' Family -- Furious With MTV

12/2/2010 7:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

One of the families featured on this week's episode of MTV's "16 and Pregnant" is threatening to sue the network -- claiming producers schemed to portray them as reckless, unsupportive relatives.

1201_16_preggers
Kathleen Green (left) -- the grandmother of baby daddy Isiah -- tells TMZ the network "defamed" her family because "nothing that aired is what happened" in real life.

Kathleen tells us MTV set up shots and heavily edited footage in the episode -- which revolves around Isiah, his baby mama Christinna (right) and the birth of their daughter Destiny.

Kathleen says she's particularly upset with a scene involving a DNA test she bought for Christinna -- claiming she came off as a cold-hearted bitch because MTV left out one key detail -- "They didn’t show that [Christinna] had told us she had had sex with some other guy."

Now, Green says her family wants to sue the network for defamation.

Calls to MTV have not been returned.

Let's just put this piece of sh*t show to an end. It gives teens the wrong idea. I'm petrified that my teen cousins "love" this show. They think they will become famous if they get pregnant. It's f*cking disgusting.

Thank God!....Here in my Country we value education more than whoring for attention on TV and getting pregnant at early age....jeez. PLEASE STOP ALL THIS CRAP FAME GRAVING. The famous people like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theressa, Albert Einstein..etc...all earned their fame in a right and respectful way than whoring around. MTV sucks.

Imagine that... any opportunity to sue and get $$$. The woman probably lives on welfare and probably has a "disability" she gets money for because she slipped in the supermarket that one time. They need to start making these people pay thousands of dollars when they lose these lawsuits, to keep them from wasting the courts time.

Reality TV shows and their networks are doing great harm to their participants and those who watch this crap. The most harm is done to the children on these fake, scripted "reality" shows.
Suicides, divorces, narcissism issues, children having behavioral problems in and out school. TLC, MTV, E!, whoever prey on reality participants so they can make a bundle of money while paying little. The greatest harm is by those distracted by this edited, scripted, fake "reality".

Just wondering when these reality shows who continue on and on and on and on and onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

will finally hook a family such as this...sue happy.

I'd love to read the contract this family signed.

It is very sad to see that a family will work their underage child that gets pregnant to promote them on tv......

Obviously, there has never been a positive with this show and it is so sad that MTV has done this with as much abuse, neglect and murder that happens these days with similar type family scenarios.....

God bless these innocent hearts born into all of the heartless bringing them into the wrong light.

Even if there was another guy involved, that doesn't mean grandma should be involved too. I don't think MTV made her look bad, she did a fine job of that herself.

I believe this is true. They alter scenes to suggest what is significantly more interesting to the viewing audience. The more salacious, the better.

It was clear last year that reality television isn't. It's scripted. That was obvious even on the Kardashians. The producer was taped while backing up the scene and telling Bruce and Chris what to say in their retake.

MTV also promotes serial and reckless sex. They think it's cool that males on Jersey Shore brag about how many women they can poke in a day only to send them packing in a taxi when the deed is done. So would they do what she's alleging? Quite likely, I'd say. MTV isn't the nicest cable network.

While I hate these crap reality shows being shown today, I have to ask why people don't just change channel and send out the message you don't want to watch this sort of c r a p!! No viewers, no program, sadly some people will sit and watch people sleeping these days!!!
As for the relatives, they probably are being shown unfairly or MTV wouldn't have a show at all lol!! While the US has the law that 18 is the legal age for sex, in most other countries the legal age is 16! Why people are shocked at a 16 year old getting pregnant is beyond me, when some have been getting pregnant as early as 11 and 12 - those I'd worry about more!! It seems as if society itself is half of the problem! In a country where in some States the age for marriage used to be as low as 12 or 13, it beggars belief that anyone thinks teenagers aren't making out before the age of 18, or having sex!! It amazes me that people call 16 year old girls sluts for being pregnant at 16, but are happy to slap a boy on the back for getting his rocks off hm?!
Double standards, and perhaps an age for statutory rape that is no longer realistic - now that I've offended all of your sweet li'l ol' sensibilities I'll add one more comment!
When you promote sex and glorify it in the media, in films, and reward young women for their ho home wrecking talents with celebs, then you glorify it for all those coming along who see it as a quick way to make money without ever having to work, to do more than lay back and let some rich much older man f*** the ass off of you!!
