Wesley Snipes -- I Won't Be Home for the Holidays

12/6/2010 4:35 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Wesley Snipes won't be getting the gift of freedom for Christmas -- because a judge just DENIED the actor's request to have his surrender date pushed back until after the holidays.

Wesley filed the request last week -- asking a federal judge in Florida if he could begin his three-year prison sentence for tax evasion on January 6, 2011 instead of December 9, 2010.

Wesley's argument ... he has "four minor children" and didn't want to get locked up "in the middle of the holiday season."

But a judge didn't see it that way -- because according to documents filed today in Florida, the judge denied the request citing the fact that Wesley was originally sentenced over two-and-a-half years ago ... and therefore the actor had "all of that time to place his affairs in order."

The judge also wrote, "The sooner he begins his sentence, the sooner it will end."

Truism.

"The sooner he begins his sentence, the sooner it will end."

HAH! Judge is right.
Idiot thought he could beat the system or just be a bigger idiot and say "I forgot."

Don't have to be a genius to hire a real accountant and LISTEN to what he tells you.
Then he'd still be free and have millions of dollars.

Oh, puddy, don't get me started on the 861 argument. Wesley's problem was that he trusted his business manager instead of dealing with a "real" tax person. There are too mnay people with wealth who let others handle their money and don't know what the heck is going on until the government comes knocking. I think if you are going to pursue something that makes you millions, you need to be well-versed in all aspect of handling that much money. I mean, H&R Block could've told him it wasn't gonna fly, but he left it up to his crook of a manager.

If you "don't want to get locked up for the holiday season," maybe you should try obeying the law. It's everybody's else fault execept yours, right, Wesley?

Hey Bonehead - do the time, there are a lot of people that work during the holidays that don't even see there family at all. Some of them work so people like you can do what you want in this country. You oughta cherish & appreciate your freedom a little more !

Wesley Snipes cheats on his taxes, his punishment is three years in prison. Charlie Rangel does the same and his punishment is to have his crimes read to him in front of congress... do we see a problem here?

And why isn't Charley Wrangle his room mate? Half of the Obama cabinet? Can we say double standard?

LOL @ all the suckers who just fall for famous peoples excuses. My posts about Michael Jackson were erased yesterday so I suspect this one will be too. Snipes knew exactly what was going on and if he didn't then he's a bigger fool than you. Last time I checked you have to sign your tax forms, even the stars do. Cry me a river. To be honest he will probably make more money by sitting in prison since he won't have the chance to be out there just blowing it.

He should have went into politics, they give you a pass there.
Charlie Rangle didn't pay taxes they "censured" him and sent him back to work.

Zambonie, there's a big difference between owing taxes and lying on your taxes. Mr. Snipes now knows the difference.
