Manny Pacquiao -- I'm the Victim of a 'Shakedown'

12/8/2010 10:10 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Manny Pacquiao says his former business partners are simply envious of his recent $15 million boxing payday -- and that's why they concocted a scheme to sue him over a busted record deal ... this according to new legal docs.

Manny Pacquiao Lawsuit

Pacquiao is firing back at RBM Group International -- claiming their $10 million lawsuit against him for allegedly backing out of a 12 song record deal is nothing more than a "shakedown."

In the documents, obtained by TMZ, Manny claims RBM was supposed to pay him $160k up front -- but he only got a check for $40,000 ... and therefore he has no legal obligation to make an album.

But the best part of the lawsuit -- Manny's lawyer quotes the Archbishop of Constantinople ... who said, "As a moth gnaws a garment, so doth envy consume a man."

The deal was supposed to be $160...k up front. RBM gave Pacquiao only $40k and RBM still owed Pacquiao $120k up front. Pacquiao should sue RBM for $10 million for breaking a contract, wasting Pacquiao's time and a Lamborghini. I had a contract with the owner for an architecture project, the owner canceled the project and he still had to pay me $10k even though I had not started the project.

IT'S PURE GREED IN RBM'S PART! The idiocy is to think that they will lose $10 mil if Manny does not cut an album with them. Have you heard him sing at Kimmel's? Do you think his voice is like that of John Lennon, Frank sinatra or Justin Timberlake? LOL.
Yeah right, I believe millions of people will start falling in line to buy his album, once it comes out. More LOL. with the way he sings I will even be surprise if the earn a couple of hundred thousand K.
What Manny should do is give back the 40K plus some fines and be done with this stupid lawsuit.

Actually according to the terms of this contract I was told it was supposed to be $40,000 USD upfront which was paid upfront for the recording of the first two songs which they have refused to record. The other $120,000 USD was due to be paid sometime after the first two songs were finished and finalized. And another thing I heard this particular contract was a worldwide exclusive recording/film rights and merchandising contract which was active upon signage, which apparently has been subjected to multiple breeches from this man and his side kick Lito Camo over the last year.

So it would appear RBM Group is supposed to be the owner and benifactor of anything Manny and Lito do worldwide that is musically related from concert to shows to guest television appearances plus exclusive filming rights and merchandising so you tell me...
A worldwide contract on all things music plus merchandise and filming rights from one of the biggest sport icons of this century is that worth 10 mill if they refuse to fulfill their contract?

Pacquiao should sue and entitle for $10 Mil. from RBM Group International for bridging contract. RBM supposed to give Pacquiao $160......k in advance in written contract, but they cheated Pacquiao by providing him only $40k. This is a scam and RBM shuold be fine $10 mil plus $160......k supposed to be advance. Pacquiao could have made more than $10 mil. if RBM keep their agreement.
