'Bachelor' Star

Scientology Won't Leave Me Alone!

12/17/2010 9:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Former "The Bachelor" winner Shayne Lamas is waging war on the Church of Scientology -- claiming Xenu's followers are billing her $1,500 ... even though she wants nothing to do with them.

1216_lamas_doc_launch
Shayne's lawyer fired off a letter to the famous L. Ron Hubbard shrine in Hollywood, demanding the church quit sending her bills for $1,506.35 -- claiming the bills are bogus ... and that Shayne "is not now, nor ever has been, a member of your organization or the Church of Scientology."

A Church rep claims Shayne "made a donation in 2004" -- but the check didn't clear. The rep says they'll stop sending letters to Shayne.

Best part ... Shayne's lawyer also reps her husband Nik Richie -- the guy behind TheDirty.com -- who says he's a big "Top Gun" fan and might be interested in joining the Church ... if they send him letters addressed to "Maverick."

We're guessing that's a negative, Ghost Rider.

Snake Oil Cult

Loving this. Kudos to Shayne's attorney.

I took one of their sh*tty courses 25 years ago, realized it was a scam, and quickly escaped. Even though I have moved four times, I have been stalked and harassed by this cult ever since. If you want buttloads of junk mail, non-stop telemarketing calls at all hours, and SURPRISE visits on your front porch. Then by all means, take one of their courses!!!They will chase you into your grave!!!!

They are worse than poison ivy! I'm going to look up Shayne's attorney and request he send a letter for me!!!!

As an aside, I think that article is ironically funny. The COS doesn't worship Xenu, he was the enemy of mankind. So if the Church is now following him has you implied, that's a twist, and may have a bit of truth in it...the practices don't seem to exactly follow what LRH (LRH=L. Ron Hubbard) intended.

In any case if the check was given, and did bounce, writing a check that bounces is one way to get out of the hard sell at events. Write the check and they let you out of the door:)

The beliefs of scientology are not really an issue, like people say Christianity has its quirks too. What is a problem is the organisation that calls itself the church of scientology because that is a dangerous cult organisation.

Dangerous cults are all about manipulation and control, they have various mechanisms which seek to control the following 4 attributes of a member's life:

Behaviour
Information they receive
Thoughts they have
Emotions and how they relate to them

All cults have elements of control, getting people to conform to the groups norms but dangerous cults go to the extreme.

The techniques they use are quite clever because once a member has been indoctrinated they will then use the techniques as part of the group in order to recruit others without even realising it.

Most dangerous cult members are otherwise intelligent and well meaning people. The tricks the cult uses usurp the good intentions of the members to do good and make doing good mean doing good for the cult, which usually translates to getting more money and recruits for it.

So how do they do it, if you want to know more as well as find out how to assess an organisation as to whether it is a dangerous cult go here:

So 6 years ago a "donation" check bounced and it is only in the past year that they have tried to pursue it.

For all that is funny about scientology beliefs and practices the organisation calling itself the church of scientology is no joke, it's a dangerous cult; a dangerous cult is more than just a cult.

Dangerous cults are all about control and manipulation. Dangerous cults have mechanisms to control the member's Behaviour, the Information they can access, the Thoughts they have and Emotions and how they feel and how they feel.

Scientology never defends itself. Like any abuser, they always attack the victim.

In this case the victim is "The Bachelor" star Shayne Lamas.
She wrote them a check then changed her mind. She had no obligation whatsoever, neither legal nor moral, to honor that check since it was not provided in exchange for any goods or services. Rather than let the matter drop, Scientology harassed and harassed and harassed her FOR YEARS and WOULD NOT STOP no matter how many times she told the cult to leaver her alone. She was harassed to the point of having to get a lawyer to write them letter! What charity does that?

Anyway, now that this is reported in the news, along comes Scientology's "secret police", aka the Office of Special Affairs, posting insults about her in these comments and generally being jerks. What is the defense that they offer up? The ridiculous notion that it was her fault that they abused and harassed her for over a year! Apparently she forced Scientology to act like a stalker and harass her.

Scientology is disgusting, no different than any other abuser.

Shill for the Cult-- NOT

The negative comments, like this one, are from people who DO know about the cult. As for trying something before you knock it, I hope you enjoy crack. A wise person learns from his mistakes but a smart person learns from other people's mistakes. A real church will ask you for money but they won't ask you to take out a second mortgage, max out you credit cards, sell your car and ask your parents for your inheritance before they die.

As usual, TMZ has its usual "slant", and omits giving just enough of the facts in order to make people look wrong, bad, inept, or stupid. If they think that it is fun to laugh at others, (rather than laugh with them in a non-hurtful way) then they haven't learned the lesson of "What goes around comes around". Please, we all need to help each other in whatever small way we can; even bad people, truly, are good; when the get rid of their "baggage".
...
Scientology helps people get rid of their baggage.
Of course, Scientology would try to collect on a bad check. Shame on her. And that lawyer of hers... what is he a joke or something... I'd like to help them both if I could. Maybe these words might help. Look a little more closely before you say or do things. Anyway, she could have gotten a refund from Scientology, so please don't treat us like bad guys. In many places and in many ways we are the number one self-betterment group and leader in spiritual science.
