NFL Fines Brett Favre

$50,000 in Sexting Scandal

12/29/2010 4:34 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The NFL has fined Brett Favre $50,000 for "failing to cooperate" with the league's investigation into his sexting scandal involving former NY Jets employee Jenn Sterger.

Brett Favre Fined for Sexting
The league noted Commish Roger Goodell "could not conclude" if Favre violated the league's personal conduct policy based on the evidence he had seen.

The NFL released a statement saying, "The forensic analysis could not establish that Favre sent the objectionable photographs to Sterger."

The league continued, "The review found no evidence to contradict the statements of both Favre and Sterger that they never met in person, nor was there anything to suggest that Sterger engaged in any inappropriate conduct."

The NFL claims it also looked into reports that Favre put the moves on two massage therapists who worked at the Jets' facility in 2008 -- but the investigation hit a dead end because people with "potentially relevant information" refused to cooperate with investigators.

Melissa, I'm not saying you don't have a point, but she doesn't have to worry about losing her job for reporting the incident anymore. He was in a position of power over her and he used it to his advantage. If you don't believe that, then you are naive. It is easier to make up reasons to fire a lower level employee that rocks the money boat than it is to quietly replace a star quarterback. Not all women that come forward are gold diggers and just because he could throw a football doesn't mean he's a good person.

I guess it was difficult to discern between what looked like a little finger and Bretts teeny weenie.

Favre just set precedent for the league. If you are going to get in trouble, don't cooperate. The fine for not cooperating is MUCH better than getting sanctioned for the offense.

He shouldn't have gotten fined at all if you ask me. This particular woman has made her career promoting her sexuality and has little to no journalism skills. Ask yourselves this. How did Bret get her phone number in the first place? Why is this showing up almost 2yrs after the alleged misconduct? Apparently she wasn't all that offended until someone else broke the story and furthermore, I find it hard giving this former poser in Playboy the benefit of the doubt that she was "offended".

Oh give me a F*king break!

if some random weirdo on the street sent her a pic of his penis she would have deleted it, acted disgusted and moved on... but because he's a football player, she's all on that gravy train like a fat kid on a smartie.... don't these people know how to make money like a normal person?

and to all of you who think that all NFL... let's just say ALL celeb's who commit a crime, to be banned from doing their work...

wave goodbye to sports, movies, television, politics and... well every other job description in the public spotlight... SCANDALS ARE HERESAY... one person's word against another (usually) unless there is proof

any of you want to rethink that statement?

They are crayz!!

Me no understand ... Why is he fined? This really is a black and white case - no grey area ... he either did send the texts, or he didn't. The NFL says they can not positively establish that Favre sent the texts - so why did they fine him? me no understand. NFL fines players for NOT sending unwanted pictures of their wee willy to people?
