People vs. Dr. Conrad Murray

1/11/2011 7:57 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Prosecution Rests in Murray Case

0111_murray_jackson_prelimThe prosecution has ended its case in the Conrad Murray preliminary hearing after 6 days of testimony.

The defense filed a motion to dismiss, which is routine.  It will almost certainly be denied.

Judge Michael Pastor has taken a recess.  It's virtually certain that Dr. Murray will be ordered to stand trial.

The Deputy Attorney General who represents the Medical Board of California is in the courtroom.  We're told he will ask the judge to suspend Murray's license to practice medicine.

Conrad Murray Manslaughter Hearing

Murray Commited Homicide Even If MJ Injected Himself
Updated 1/11/11 at 10:57am

0111-conrad_prelimA doctor for the L.A. County Coroner's Office just testified ... even if Michael Jackson injected himself with the fatal dose of Propofol, Dr. Murray is still guilty of homicide.

Dr. Christopher Rogers testified he believes Dr. Murray had no business administering Propofol outside a hospital setting, particularly without the appropriate medical equipment.  Rogers said given Michael's dependence on Propofol and the fact that Murray left him alone in the room with access to the drug constitutes a homicide.

Coroner Doesn't Believe Dr. Murray's Story
Updated 1/11/11 at 10:26am

0111_jackson_prelimA doctor for the L.A. County Coroner's Office testified he doesn't believe Dr. Murray only gave Michael Jackson 25mg of Propofol.

Without saying Murray lied to cops during his interview two days after MJ died, Dr. Christopher Rogers testified if Murray were correct about the 25mg of Propofol, Jackson would have awakened after 3 to 5 minutes of sleep.

Rogers also testified he doesn't believe Jackson swallowed Propofol.  The defense laid the groundwork for this theory yesterday, because small amounts of the drug were found in Jackson's stomach.

And Rogers said he believes it's inappropriate to use Propofol for insomnia and that Murray's care was "substandard."

Murray to Cops:  Michael Begged Me For Propofol
Updated 1/10/11 at 4:55pm

0110_michael_jackson_conrad_murray_prelimIn some of the most dramatic testimony to date, an LAPD detective testified Dr. Conrad Murray told him Michael Jackson "begged" him for Propofol shortly before he died.

LAPD Robbery Homicide Detective Orlando Martinez testified about an interview he conducted with Dr. Murray two days after MJ died.  Martinez said Murray told him the night before Jackson died he was having trouble sleeping.  Murray said he was trying to ween Jackson off of Propofol -- a drug he was giving MJ almost every night for two months.

Murray told Martinez he was giving Jackson a variety of other drugs, beginning sometime after 1AM, to no avail.  Jackson then said if he didn't get to sleep he would cancel rehearsal.

Murray said he was feeling "pressure" from MJ to give him something to help him sleep, and Jackson was begging for Propofol.  Murray claims he gave him a reduced dose, with Michael's help.  As TMZ has reported many times before, Murray said MJ liked to "push in the Propofol himself and that other doctors let him do it."

Murray went to the bathroom for 2 minutes, came back and claims he saw MJ wasn't breathing.

Defense: Michael Jackson Drank Propofol
Updated 1/10/11 at 2:53pm

0107_propofol_prelimMichael Jackson may have drank himself to death by consuming a juice box laced with Propofol -- at least that's what Conrad Murray's defense team suggested in court today.

Murray's attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, was questioning a Senior Criminalist from the L.A. County Coroner's Office about the 70 grams of fluid found in MJ's stomach at the time of the autopsy ... fluid that tested positive for traces of Propofol.

Flanagan noted the presence of a juice box on MJ's nightstand ... and asked if it had been tested for Propofol ... raising the possibility that MJ was sippin' on the anesthetic shortly before he died.

The criminalist testified he had not tested the juice box.

So what's Flanagan's point? He might be suggesting that MJ was secretly self-administering his Propofol ... which would support Murray's defense theory that MJ accidentally caused his own overdose.

Dr. Murray Ordered a Boatload of Propofol for MJ
Updated 1/10/11 at 12:05pm

0110_murray_vid_launch_prelim_3A pharmacist Dr. Murray used to order Propofol just testified the doctor ordered box after box of the drug in the two months before Michael Jackson's death.

Tim Lopez, a pharmacist at Applied Pharmacy Services in Las Vegas, said beginning on April 6, 2009, Dr. Murray began ordering large quantities of Propofol. On that date, he ordered 10 single dose vials.

Murray, who had the drugs sent to his girlfriend's Santa Monica home where he was living, also ordered boxes of the drug on April 28 -- 4 boxes and each of the boxes had 10 100ml vials.

Later that month, Murray ordered 20 vials of midazolam and 20 vials of lorazepam.

On May 12, Murray ordered 4 boxes of Propofol, along with 2 trays of midazolam.

On June 10, Murray ordered 4 boxes of Propofol, and 2 20ml Propofol.

In all, Murray ordered 255 vials of Propofol in the two months -- including 130 vials of Propofol in 100ml doses and another 125 vials of Propofol in 20ml vials.

Judge: Murray's iPhone Admissible as Evidence

Updated 1/10/11 at 10:35am

0110_iphone_prelimJudge Michael Pastor ruled this morning that recently obtained data from Dr. Conrad Murray's iPhone is admissible as evidence.

Murray's attorney, Ed Chernoff, referenced the items in question ... a few voicemails and 12 screenshots.  He was not more specific.

The prosecution has used phone records to create a timeline showing what Murray did the day Michael Jackson died.

I find it amazing that so many haters take the time to post on every Michael Jackson story. What is is they fear so much, that they feel they must spew hatred towards him. Perhaps they are so miserable in their own lives, they want to destroy anyone who provides a message of hope and love.
Justice for MJ. Love you more.

WHAT WAS MICHAEL TOTALLY OUT OF IT OVER ON THE 19th of June??? WHY WAS HE SCARED??

Posted at 11:55 AM on Jan 4, 2011 by Siggisis
-----------

I don't believe that Michael was just out of it on June 19th. He must have been weak and probably not showing up for rehearsals before. I guess this day was just the straw that broke the camel's back. But Kenny Ortega had never really admitted it. The TII stories he told have always been about an energetic Michael, ready to take the world by storm again.

MJ is the Greatest of all

WHY can't ppl get into their twisted minds that Michael was NOT hurting children. He was framed by two moneygreedy families, forced to pay the first one by his insurance company and found NOT GUILTY on ALL CHARGES back in 2005. Stop telling malicious lies about an INNOCENT man...it infuriates me beyond all meassure to keep hearing those lies repeated...they are LIES...get that into your thick skulls and stop believeing in tabloid garbage Posted at 12:04 PM on Jan 4, 2011 by MiJacDK

Murray felt that he was the only authorized person to send Michael home from rehearsals?
Good grief, what an arrogance!

When he called Cherilyn Lee that Fathers Day she said he was scared as well. I'm not sure if he Ortega meant 'scared' over his health, the show, Murray's actions, paranoid-scared? Perhaps something happened the night of the 18th when Murray was 'administering' his quack-treatment that scared him. Ortega also said he was very quiet. Real ominous isn't it? Makes me sad to think that he was perhaps feeling pressure about the shows & was scared & freaking out. The family seems to be saying MJ believed he was going to be murdered for his catalog-not sure I really buy that one.

'Scared' doesn't really explain much does it & MJ doesn't sound like he was talking about it that day, nor did he want to.

Odd. It's obvious Murray delayed calling 911, hid propofol etc, but didn't they manage to get MJ's heart beating for ten minutes at the hospital? Did the prosecutor mean "brain dead"?
I hope the prosecutor doesn't scr*w things up.

Aston, read your source material carefully about getting MJ's heart beating. I believe you will find that nowhere does it state that his heart was beating SPONTANEOUSLY. I forget the exact wording, and I don't know the technique used, but they probably managed to get the heart beating ONLY because the machines were doing the work. Take away the machines, and no heart beat, because he really was already dead.

I also recall reading that a nurse or doctor said or indicated that MJ really was dead and that they were only "working on him" until his mother arrived. (One assumes this was for her/the family's benefit so that they would still think there was hope while they were en route to the hospital, and not get into a crash).

Someone needs to question those doctors carefully. I'm sure they billed for their services. Are they guilty of insurance fraud if they bill for working on someone they know is dead? In that case, they may be afraid to tell the truth: i.e., that he arrived in their E.R. already dead. On the other hand, perhaps insurance will still pay if the E.R. docs work on an officially dead person, because some have actually been brought back from the brink. Perhaps someone in the medical billing field can shed more light.

Bottom line: I do not believe that Jackson ever showed any evidence of SPONTANEOUS respiration or heartbeat from the time the paramedics arrived at his home. That man was stone cold dead already -- that's why Murray had the heat up sky high: to try to keep the body warm.

At the very least would the police not obtain Murrays cell phone records to see who he called on that fateful night and for what length of time? You would think they would put together a time line and other then his baby momma interviewed everyone he spoke to, how I wish they had the video at the house or a transcript of Murrays calls.

Yup MJ's dead Ms Jackson gotta jet see everyone in two days I forgot something back at the mansion......

Keep believing he is innocent trolls for once we are not the "rabid" ones.

Peace.

Murray wanted resuscitation efforts continued & would not sign the death certificate. Nor was he particularly communicative or cooperative on arrival at the ER. He in fact did not disclose the fact he'd given the Propofol at all. Therefore, these ER docs would have been reluctant to cease resuscitative efforts considering A) They were totally in the dark as to what they were dealing with & Murray was certainly no help B) They would have given MJ the 'Hallelujah package' because he's MICHAEL JACKSON, & C) They are capable of doing certain things in the ER that the EMT's cannot like the intra-aortic balloon cath, crack the chest & do internal massage, etc. I'm sure they would have exhausted all efforts. I sure as hell would have. I agree with you, the 'heartbeat' they speak of was probably artificially induced.

Michael's death is looking more and more like an assisted suicide. Reading statements that Michael predicted his murder, missing surveillance video, accusation Michael injected himself with propofol, Michael's extremely poor health, immediate clean up after he died, delay in calling the paramedics, Murray's convenient departure from Jackson's bedroom, calling Prince to the room so there was an innocent witness to the situation, etc., etc.
I don't believe that Michael would commited suicide but I think there is a possiblity that Murray was paid to assist in his death. Michael Jackson has been seriously ill for a very long time and "This Is It" title is symbollic of what was to come. Death or suffering-which you choose?

Not to mention the ole one handed CPR on the bed just to further complicate the time of death with the combination of the heat being cranked up. It was not about resuscitation it was about covering his azz.

...the surveillance tapes? I'm not so sure. I can't figure out that Michael had an interest to tape what was going on at night in the house. Maybe there haven't been any security tapes at all. Just thinking.
Posted at 11:41 AM on Jan 4, 2011 by moni

Moni, I have never been able to find out of there were other tapes and if the one during his death was the ONLY missing tape, which would be highly suspicious. Does anyone have any facts about these tapes?
