Man Sues The Rock Over WWE Match from 2000

1/6/2011 4:15 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

11 years after a legendary WWE match between The Rock and Triple H -- a guy who was in the audience is suing the wrestlers ... claiming he was injured when the men ran into the crowd and knocked a female fan into his knee.

It's all in a Kentucky lawsuit filed by Ronald Basham -- who says he was 7-years-old at the time of the incident ... and too young to sue for himself.

According to the lawsuit, Ronald claims the wrestlers took the fight out of the ring and into the stands -- when The Rock shoved a spectator ... and caused a woman standing nearby to fall onto Ronald ... injuring his right leg and knee.

Ronald claims he sustained "severe and painful injuries" that will continue to bother him. In fact, Ronald says he recently had to undergo surgery on his leg as a result of the wrestling incident.

A rep for the WWE tells us they are "looking into the matter" but says they "don't comment on pending litigation."

You have got to be kidding me :/ I mean seriously, the wwe is already in G-rated status, then you have this fool from years back wanting to sue the Rock and Triple H for something that happened when he was 7 years old, I mean Really? Can we say " someone wants free money from a big company?" And if the fool was gunna sue someone why the bloody hell isn't he sueing the fatass woman who fell on him? I mean as if the wrestlers don't have enough problems like it is. But all the sudden this fool see's that The Rock & Triple H are both making movies, so he is like " hmmmm money, imma sue for my leg now." what a flake this fool must be. Dude get a life and get a job and make your own money, that couldn't have hurt your candy ass bad enough to sue now, your stupid parents should have sued the woman when you were 7 if thats the case seriously.

Considering the length of time it has been I would assume that a doctor probably wanted to monitor this kids growth and development to determine the amount of damage that was done when his leg was caught and twisted in between two chairs that were attached to one another and then a crowd of people were shoved on to him. Facts people are important

Really amazed that any lawyer would even take that on. Guess the client is not the only golddigger here.....have major doubts he or she is doing it pro bono.

As it has been said but seriously if an injury occurred to the severity that this imp is claiming well then actually you can bet the parents would have filed long ago and probably found a lawyer that would not collect until they do. Sure maybe scuffle happened but really if this kid was at event and this happened I believe any parent would have reported it considering the pending medical treatment that would be required.

Yes could be the economy or it is a sign of the times that some people have no concience or scuples.

Anything for 15 minutes of fame and a little fortune....betcha even if the case is ousted they will fuel the flame for attention just to get money cause really as most of can see that really is the game here.

I happen to know this family and they did do something about this when the child was 7. Also he was taken in an ambulance from the arena and has been under a doctors care with issues involving his knee since the incindent. They hired this attorney when they refused to help with medical bills and now the kid is 18 and he is taking over and suing on his own behalf. They are not white trash from KY like most of you are saying. The kid lives at home in Indiana with his mother and family because he is still a student, making pretty good grades from what I have heard. He was stripped from playing football due to his knee surgery and wants to pursue racing to follow his deceased father. So don't trash people when you don't know them or at least SOME of the facts.
