'This Is It' Producer: I Didn't Cause Michael's Death

1/8/2011 8:15 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The producer/director of Michael Jackson's "This Is It" tour is scoffing at Katherine Jackson's wrongful death suit in which he's named as a defendant, because he had nothing to do with the drugs or treatment that caused the singer's death.

0107_kenny_katherine_TMZ_EX

Kenny Ortega just filed legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- asking the court to remove him as a defendant in Katherine's suit, claiming, "Kenneth Ortega is not alleged to be involved in the medical treatment or administration of drugs that allegedly caused Michael Jackson's death."

Ortega's lawyer adds ... Kenny never had a contract with Dr. Conrad Murray or with  Michael Jackson, nor has he had any official affiliation with AEG.

Ortega's lawyer says, "The naming of Kenneth Ortega as a defendant in this action, without any basis, without any substantive charging allegations against him, is a gross error."

Ridiculous.

Just because you read it in the magazine or see it on the t.v. screen don't make it factual

I'm gonna be, Exactly what you wanna see, It's you whose haunting me, Your warning me, To be the stranger, In your life
Am I amusing you, Or just confusing you, AM I THE BEAST YOU VISUALIZED,
And if you wanna to see, Eccentrialities, I'll be grotesque, Before your eyes, Let them all materialize

The truth will set him free... Katherine and Joe are shifty characters as well as their freaky dead son. These people are driven by greed and power. Shame on all the Jacksons!

Everyone is at fault..everyone should be sorry for the Royal Highness Jackson Family. They are perfect, they can not be wrong, all of them are angels sent by the God.....

1. It is the label company and the producers' fault because the new album did not debut #1 in US......{If the new album production is 100% controlled by the royal family member, it would have guaranteed to debut at #1 everywhere in the World and there would not be any "fake tracks" ...Remember, the Jacksons are all musical and entertainment genius (everyone in the family are big stars seen frequently in tabloids...if not tweets to get attention).

2. It is AEG and Kenny's fault because they did not take care of MJ who committed to do 50 shows in order to payoff debt and feed his big royal family.

3. It is the doctor's fault because MJ was stressed out with no support system at his royal family home, but to rely on anti-depression and stress management drugs to get to sleep and calm down at night.

4. It is the estate executors' fault because they had to sign so many contracts for posthumous deals and to deal with massive debt.

5. It is the God's fault to take away MJ, the most productive income generator of the royal family...

On and on and on....getting fed up now.. MJ death reminds fans MJ's music and brings many of his fans back (previously many fans turned away due to the rumors and craziness after Dangerous era)...but all these craziness in the Jackson family is going turn people off again....

May MJ RIP, he is in a better place now. Hope his 3 kids can grow up quickly so they can live independently away from the crazy family (in order to escape from being money making machines).

13. I agree. MJ won't do 02 without KO. I think he's right to ask his name to be removed. He truly cared for MJ and you can tell from TII that they respected and cared for each other. AEG and/or Dr. Murray together yet in different ways, drove MJ to an early grave.

Here's the partners in crime at the This Is It premiere. All they need is Tohme and Murray to complete the picture. Don't they look happy....all that money coming in.

I'm going to defend Mr. Ortega on this one though I agree AEG/Thome/Murray worked Michael to death and they should be sued for sure. I used to work with lawsuits, and people always seemed to be named left and right simply because they happened to be there, whether they were involved or not. I might be imagining things, but on the TII interview of Paul Gongaware and Randy Phillips, Mr. Gongaware's body language (to me) was definitely saying they had gone too far, and they knew it. I felt like he had "guilty" written all over him... I think Mr. Ortega genuinely cared about Michael's well-being, but his hands were tied and he was ignored (like Karen Faye and probably others)...I'm not sure he had a lot of "power" at the business table and he did what he could to look out for Michael.

I also think Ortega/AEG knew the shape Michael was in, probably even knew he was taking drugs and probably knew Murray was Michael's Dr. Feelgood, but they turned a blind eye. IMO they were negligent for letting him go on tour in his condition; all they were thinking about was how fast those tickets sold out and how much money they would make.

I wish people would get used to the idea that Michael Jackson probably did commit suicide.
His choreographer testified that Michael's rehearsals were way under-par, and that he seemed depressed.

Kenny Ortega said that MJ had one bad rehearsal--didn't even call it bad, just said Michael seemed tired. One bad rehearsal doesn't equal failure.

Besides that, I've seen TII which proves that this show was going to be amazing. The rehearsal footage alone was enough to make it the best money making do***entary in history. So sorry, you're wrong. Michael had nothing to be depressed about as far as his concerts were concerned.

Interesting that Kenny's lawyer says he's never had contact with Conrad Murray, when Kenny just recently testified otherwise. And he WAS affilliated with AEG!!! Both the tour/show and the eventual This Is It film/do***entary was produced by AEG!! Kenny and Randy Phillips were in contact.

Someone's lying....

Michael was murdered and that's why we should care and have great compassion for his passing and his most barbaric death.

If it can happen to Michael it can happen to anyone of us. Murder is never acceptable.....we have a duty of care to each other...we are our brother's keepers.

It is reported that Michael needed the drug Propofol to sleep. Obviously he had heard about this drug from some medical person. Any medical person who would administer (not prescribe) this drug is negligent and complicit in the death of Michael. Just to administer the drug to Michael such as Conrad Murray did is so sub-human and reduces Michael's integrity to non-existent.

Conrad Murray should have acted as a professional doctor and tried to get Michael some sleep treatment, which can be very effective without the use of drugs. His negligence in not doing so builds the case for his not really having his patient's best interest at heart. So if he had ulterior motives for administering the deadly drug Propofol what were those motives?

Murray was doing as he was told.

The security tapes should be tracked down. The security companies should have copies especially when they concern such a high risk client as Michael Jackson. Lets hope the security company will be subpoeaned to produce copies before the trial.

Rest in peace dear Michael. We will stay vigilant and alert and pray for justice for you, your family and all those who love you.
