Eva Longoria Sued -- Alleged Beso Restaurant Scam

1/10/2011 5:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Eva Longoria is being sued for more than $4,000,000 -- after a guy who invested in Eva's restaurant, Beso, claims the actress ran an illegal scheme to use the eatery to fatten her wallet.

Eva Longoria Scam

The suit is kind of technical, but the long story short ... Eva's accused of lending $1 mil to the company behind Beso ... with the agreement that she'd get paid back at an astronomical amount of interest ... racking up $4.6 million over 2 years.

The person who filed the lawsuit today in L.A. County Superior Court, an investor named Mali Nachum, claims Eva's deal not only violates California law -- but it cuts into his percent of the company.

Mali wants more than $4 mil in damages.

UPDATE: A rep for Longoria tells TMZ, "This is a desperate reaction in a lawsuit without merit by prior partners who, through their unauthorized and fraudulent actions, required Eva Longoria to seek reorganization protection through bankruptcy court in Nevada."

That's shady business by Eva. How in the world can a business function when it is giving that kind of return rate to it's majority partner for a loan??? I can easily see why the dude is aggravated and wants to be compensated. He was bamboozled.

#3 *noneofypurbusiness* yes u are correct eva's beso las vegas resturant that she also invested $1M in is filing for bankrupcy; they owe $5.7M

maybe that's why she's asking her soon to be ex-husband for spousal support from the new $50M contract he signed, b/c she's made some poor investments lately

Greedy girl. Never understood the fascination with her. She's not all that good looking, not a great actress, seems incredibly high maintenance.....Oh, and now she's a slippery sleaze ball to boot!

@truth...You don't know enough details now to call the guy a moron. Just because he invested his money in the business doesn't mean he is involved in day to day operations, to include management of the companies cash flows. I doubt there is anything in writing that clearly states that Eva would loan the restaurant $1MM and receive $4.5 MM in return in 2 years. Who in their right mind would invest in that???

I think this will just go away he is trying to get free money. Most will stay out of court because of the costs that insue this type of case.

This is just the tip of the iceberg on the illegal things Eva has done. Look for many more suits and possibly criminal charges to come out against Eva.

She's so cute and pretty without makeup. Why do women insist on wearing crap on their faces all the time?

If the allegations are true, it shouldn't be that difficult to prove. I think there would be a clear paper trail. Get a sharp accountant, maybe an ex-IRS agent and fraud of this type lands people in jail. Think of the mobsters who were jailed for tax evasion and similar charges when nothing else could be proved.

FYI Mali Nachum is an Israeli woman NOT a man and she is married to Ronen Nachum, also Israeli. Before they moved to the States they wreaked havoc and ruffled alot of feathers in my city in Canada with shady deals and an unearned attitude of entitlement. After they burned all of their bridges here they flew south.I would normally lean towards assuming that the celebrity in this kind of situation is being greedy, but knowing what I do about this toxic couple. It is more likely that they were up to no good....again!

Usury is when a company or individual is charged interest on a loan that is more than the state law allows. A four million dollar return on a one million dollar loan is certainly usury and maybe even crimminal. Is she part of the Mexican Mafia???
