Controversy Rages Over New 'Elvis' Recordings

1/13/2011 4:40 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has obtained a 30-second clip from what could be a historic recording of Elvis & Jerry Lee Lewis back in 1960 -- their only duet in existence -- but there's a problem ... some people claim it ain't legit.

The clip allegedly features Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis shooting the breeze at Jerry's house -- and based on the audio, Jerry's a big fan of the King.

A guy named Rod Lambert from Nashville tells TMZ, he bought the tape over ten years ago at a yard sale ... and only recently discovered that he could have a piece of rock and roll history on his hands.

An audio forensics expert verified that the voices on the tape were indeed Elvis and Lewis ... but Lambert -- who posted more of the clip on his website -- tells us, the company in charge of Elvis' catalog denied it was really the rock legend.

Lambert claims the full 30-minute version of the tape contains some pretty explicit dialogue -- and although Elvis doesn't say much ... according to Lambert, Lewis wasn't so cautious, saying things like, “If you don’t like Jerry’s peaches, then get your f**kin’ ass away from my tree."

Check out the clip for yourselves and decide.

Micheal Jackson Estate did the same thing to make money. My goodness you would think they would be more inventive. The point is they deny it is not Elvis (whose name spells Evils)but the Elvis Estate makes money. I suspect people do not have teh money to visit Gracie mansion and they are a hurtin.

So I still think this a publicity stunt for the estate to make money.

There is no way this is Elvis ... I would be money it IS Jerry Lee with Mack ... and the person who found this didn't realize that the tape was recorded at a different speed which is why Jerry Lee and Mack sound so sloooow. No Elvis, no way, no how.

Sounds nothing like the king... check out Elvis in 1960... answering questions from the media after his return from the army and his voice sounds nothing like that... And as for the audio forensic expert - must be a Beatles man.

Please people stop the comparaison of Elvis And Michael Jackson
its a disgrace Elvis is the King of all music not only rock he had a beautiful voice and was a multi talented man.
Michael was good but not quite as good as Elvis and never will that's a fact not an opinion.
He could sing all kinds ...can you imagine Jackson singing rock then turn around sing a blues song and turn around sing a country song all in the same show? no way ...but Presley did that all the time during his life so....

It sounds like only half of the Read Deal. The other voice definitely sounds like Jerry Lee but the other voice does not sound like Elvis.

I would call it only one half of a Real Deal. The other voice definitely sounds like Jerry Lee, but the voice whom the media has claimed as Elvis' voice does not sound like Elvis at all. It sounds like someone else.
