'Teen Mom' Jenelle -- Pumping Gas & Smoking!

Gas ignites at 536 °F while a cigarette at it's highest (while it's being smoke) is less then 500 °F. There is not a large enough concentration of fumes at a gas station for a cigarette to ignite the pumps. That being said, it's not that dangerous but also not that smart...

You say you can't start a fire with smoke, which is true, but what is on the end of that cig that is causing the smoke, it's called fire so yes she could cause an explosion while smoking.

UMM Whamo..get your facts straight, a cigarette is an ignition source and can easily ignite gasoline fumes, I actually know someone who did this same stupid thing and managed to get the flames out before the vehicle exploded with his family inside!!!!

Anyone who says that you can't ignite gasoline with a cigarette is totally out to lunch. The sparks from the ash can react with the gas fumes which is extremely volatile. That is why it is illegal to smoke at a gas pump. They have these laws for a reason! Go back an retake your elementary school chemistry.
