Charlie Sheen: 'I'll Pay the Crew'

2/9/2011 5:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen has notified members of the "Two and a Half Men" crew that he will pay a portion of their salaries for the two weeks the show has been down ... if CBS and Warner Bros. agree to pay the remaining portion.

TMZ has confirmed ... Charlie is saying he is ready to come back to work next week to complete the season.  We're told Charlie is upset that Warner Bros. and show creator Chuck Lorre have not offered to pay the crew for the downtime, so he's made an offer to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries if Warner Bros. and CBS each pay 1/3 as well.

A CBS exec tells TMZ ... no one on the show is ready to go back to work on Monday.  We're told under the best of circumstances the show will come back at the end of the month, assuming Charlie can handle it.

And the CBS exec adds, no one has asked the network to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries for the downtime.

A Warner Bros. exec would not address Charlie's financial offer but  told us ... "We sincerely hope that Charlie's rehab is going well.  We hope that he is healthy in the very near future and we look forward to the return of production of 'Two and a Half Men.'"

The real world

wow, tbh he may be the reason they are out of work for three weeks or so, but in the real world that is how things work, if you do not have work you do not get paid, it's like a contract on a construction site, if you do not meet the deadline you do not get paid. although this does not apply to me because in the army you get 38 paid sick days a year (english btw). And he still has my respect iv'e been his fan throughout his ups and downs. At least he is making an effort to pay for the crew which is a generous thing, even if you do not believe it is That is a fact.

Why should the networks pay them anything? It's Charlie's fault they've lost wages, pay it all you drunk.

I am not a Charlie fan but for once think he is doing the right thing ,sort of. He should pay the full salary as he is the screw up in this matter.

I worked with Charlie Sheen in 1988 on a Japanese beer commercial, and he struggled then with drinking. Now it's drugs and prostitues. He just needs to get repent of his sins and get saved. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Charlie, get right before your sins kill you.

Good for Charlie. I honestly believe he's a good guy, just an addict with a sickness. It's unfortunate he is still in denial. We watch the show religiously and the difference in his appearance now compared to last year is amazing. He's aged 10 years and lost a ton of weight. If he had a clue he'd cancel the show the rest of the season and get help, then MAYBE continue on for NEXT season.

The nature of television is that no job is always confirmed for more then 1 year or even 13 episodes! Pilots come and go, some shows are hits, some are not, workers know the business and for that fact alone they gotta be blessed with the success of Two and a Half Men.

Alot of the reason they are in those jobs is because of Charlie Sheen the man on and off the camera. Show concept and actor's life merge, art meets real life in some way and form. If I was working on that show I would be pretty happy overall, given a steady job over 8 years and being on a show that will be iconic landmark for the first 2 decades of this century.

Pluses take over the minuses on this one.

Well I obviously didn't read the posts before me.... he's only paying a third? Well, he could certainly AFFORD to pay ALL of their salaries. Maybe next time the other side's lawyer's should tighten up the contract. If he screws up causing the show to come down, he owes 100%.

And why not do a couple shows WITHOUT him? He could easily be off getting plastic surgery or something. The rest of the characters are strong enough to carry the show, and there have been a number of episodes already where he just sits there drinking and watching TV anyway while the rest of the characters act around him. I would totally be okay with that LOL

I think he should be paying 100% as a fine for putting people out of work. it effects their families also not just the employed worker. He should learn why he is getting such a high salary. Then again we the public made him and we can also break him if we stop watching.

Seacrest is a Shorty

This is one lucky guy. He is born to a talented actor who manages to get his son work.....even if he can't all. Ahhhh nepotism....ain't it grand? Then he lands a TV series role that depicts the lead actor (Sheen) as a womanizing drunk. Not a big stretch there fella. No wonder you're in "rehab". hahahahahaha!!!

Here's a bright idea: get his brother Emilio or even his dad to replace him--permanently. They're waaaay more talented and would probably work for waaaay less money. I haven't seen them in anything for awhile now...
