Charlie Sheen: 'I'll Pay the Crew'

2/9/2011 5:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen has notified members of the "Two and a Half Men" crew that he will pay a portion of their salaries for the two weeks the show has been down ... if CBS and Warner Bros. agree to pay the remaining portion.

TMZ has confirmed ... Charlie is saying he is ready to come back to work next week to complete the season.  We're told Charlie is upset that Warner Bros. and show creator Chuck Lorre have not offered to pay the crew for the downtime, so he's made an offer to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries if Warner Bros. and CBS each pay 1/3 as well.

A CBS exec tells TMZ ... no one on the show is ready to go back to work on Monday.  We're told under the best of circumstances the show will come back at the end of the month, assuming Charlie can handle it.

And the CBS exec adds, no one has asked the network to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries for the downtime.

A Warner Bros. exec would not address Charlie's financial offer but  told us ... "We sincerely hope that Charlie's rehab is going well.  We hope that he is healthy in the very near future and we look forward to the return of production of 'Two and a Half Men.'"

I don't understand why they can't do at least 2 or 3 shows without Charlie. I would make it part of the show that he goes to rehab ... it could be made funny and actually sad at the same time. Everybody could be concerned about Charlie...and show people at the same time that drinking as Charlie does is not good......this could be done in a funny and serious way.......

As they say let's turn a negative into a positive!
It's good that he's willing to be accountable for his actions regardless of his mistakes. I hope to see some good storylines in season 8 continue on. If the show is to end a fitting finish would have to be a movie.

Stepping up to the plate? He knows damn well the studio won't pay part of the salaries, and is making a half-a***d gesture so he can claim he tried to do the right thing, but the big, bad studio wouldn't pay. ONE NIGHT of Sheen's partying or one episode's pay would probably cover all the crew wages, so he could easily afford to pay it all.

He's trying to make the studio the bad guy when he could EASILY afford to cover all the costs of HIS mistakes.

Surely if your familar with the Show then you would know Charlie is the Lead Character. Without him there IS NO SHOW. Sad but its the real world.

CBS giving him the dump will destroy the franchise - so they wont do that. His personal life is a little .... unorthodox to say the least.

CBS should dangle a few more Million in front of him --- on the condition He's private life is not consisting of Hookers, Boose and Coke.

As for the Cast and Crew -- the director is adding fuel to the fire. Charlie is 100% responsible.. but if they wanted to "help" him they wouldn't post 2 second digs.

He is an ass on the show and an ass in real life...I say..kill him off..he leaves everything to his brother...or better yet his nephew...that would show he really was a good guy after all...then bring in another "Man" (to make 2) but have the nephew in charge of the $$$ since he was the one in the will...his dad will still be the long suffering guy that doesn't own anything...the other "man" could be any number of characters..long lost relative etc
