Charlie Sheen

Checks into Rehab

1/28/2011 7:54 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen voluntarily checked himself in to an undisclosed rehab facility earlier today ... and his show "Two and a Half Men" has been placed on indefinite "hiatus" while he undergoes treatment.

"Two and a Half Men" producers released a statement saying, "Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing “Two and a Half Men” on production hiatus."

The statement continues, "We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision."

Sheen's publicist tells us, "He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern."

As TMZ previously reported, Sheen had a briefcase of cocaine delivered to his mansion during a 36-hour bender earlier this week ... and was hospitalized early Thursday morning for a hiatal hernia.

GREAT! MUST stay there for at last 6 mos. if not longer to really kick his habits, he must have really been scared this time. Said he did not have a problem a bit ago. Show could still be cancelled, time will tell. I would bet they lost a lot of sponsors, may be the top rated show, but insurance company may say "NO MORE" too. I hope he does clean up his act as Robert Downey, Jr. did, it is NOT easy to stop any bad habit and you have to want to or it will not work. I found out that I never could have just ONE cigarette (I know that is not drugs/alcohol), as it led to an extra pack a day, I was up to 4 a day before I did stop, why, because I finally hit bottom, realized I was going to die and all that. Same with all addictions.

Good Luck, Charlie, you can do it, your Dad did I HOPE your children do not have what was passed on to you and all will be fine in the Sheen family.

The only scenario I could see of Charlie going into rehab was if he had gotten so nuts he was letting Travolta screw him in the ass. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm so glad he decided rehab over jail... cops must be hot on his a** over balls of coke. Lindsay proved that if you go to rehab you stay out of jail. Smart move Charlie.

I love how so many people are praising Charlie for his decision, but lynch females like Lindsay Lohan when they fall off the wagon. Talk about double-standard.

While it's not legal to have a suitcase full of coke, there is also no proof that Sheen actually had a suitcase full of coke. Legitimate law enforcement people and/or any respected person involved in the judicial process should not follow tabloid reports and/or hold said reports up as if they are the bible. To do that would be beyond ridiculous.

Half the crap on RadarOnline's site is completely fabricated. They don't even allowing comments on their site anymore, likely because they got tired of people calling them out on their blatent B.S.

While somewhat more dependable, TMZ does get their fair share of bad information coming from unreliable sources with questionable and/or shady motivations.

TMZ also pays sources, by the way. Radar pays sources too. All sense of journalistic integrity is immidiately lost when you start paying off sources.

In short, various reports from TMZ does not equate to probable cause for the police to raid somebody's home. Any reputable judge would laugh in the face of a police department who tried to use internet tabloid reports as evidence to obtain a search warrant.
