Charlie Sheen

Checks into Rehab

1/28/2011 7:54 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen voluntarily checked himself in to an undisclosed rehab facility earlier today ... and his show "Two and a Half Men" has been placed on indefinite "hiatus" while he undergoes treatment.

0111-charlie-sheen-bn-4-credit
"Two and a Half Men" producers released a statement saying, "Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing “Two and a Half Men” on production hiatus."

The statement continues, "We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision."

Sheen's publicist tells us, "He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern."

As TMZ previously reported, Sheen had a briefcase of cocaine delivered to his mansion during a 36-hour bender earlier this week ... and was hospitalized early Thursday morning for a hiatal hernia.

I'll believe this rehab thing if (and when) he's in there at least three or four months. I have a feeling this is just a ploy to get the law off his ass...and he'll stay in this rehab place for only a week or two, which won't be nearly enough time. Frankly, I don't care what happens to the loser.

Charlie should probably thank his father, Martin Sheen, for pushing for this.

Yet, I'm pretty skeptical about Charlie's long-tern sobriety. I don't think he wants to change yet.

Probably had an intervention, but until Charlie really hits bottom, which would have to be 100 miles lower than any human on earth, he won't change.

Well, I am totally surprised. I'll bet his father was instrumental in getting him to go back to rehab. But I would guess six months is the very least he'd initially need. What happens to the everyone connected with the show?

Poor Charlie - All that talent and money wasted on Drugs! His mental health must be at rock bottom for him to be behaving like he does, especially when he's got young children. Maybe the show he's acted in has warped his mind, and that's why he does the things he does. He could be doing so much good with his life instead of drugs and wild women. I wish him all the best. I'm sure CBS is happy that Charlie is taking his big paychecks from them and spending it on suitcases full of coke, alcohol, strippers, porn stars and pornography.

That ******* just took my favorite TV show out of production.

Too much money brought down Charlie Harper, I mean Charlie Sheen.

Really? Come on TMZ. Enough with that claim that "a suitcase full of blow was delivered". It sounds awesome, but if you listen to the hooker in the video, it was actually a satchel or a bag that the dealer was carrying his blow in. And it wasn't filled with bricks of cocaine, but he pulled out 5 or 6 eight balls. Best case, that is 3/4 of an ounce. And who hasn't had at least half that delivered on an average Friday night?

For his sake, and those little children of his and his entire family---I pray he stays and gets the treatment he desperately needs.

Sallycat22 - I've seen no mention of charges. It is legal to have a suitcase of coke?

---

Yes it is legal for certain people. Furthermore the studios and their lawyers have Charlie Beck et al in their back pockets ... you will never see any charges.

If Charlie Sheen was named Todd Bridges, Rick James, or Tyrone Jackson that would be a different story ... Charlie is gonna walk.

The forgiveness of the industry is dependent on WHO you are. Even though Charlie is 45, he is still seen as a "good kid".

I know Charlie Sheen's parents personally. They are super nice people.
They deserve better than to have a son who seems intent on killing himself.
I pray nightly for him to come to his senses and finally get help before it is too late. Not for him but so as to spare his parents all the heartache that his death would cause them. Being a friend of his parents, I know Carlos as well. What a a real piece of work he is. So very unlike Ramon and Janet. Maybe being Charlie Sheen is too much for him to handle. He should go back to being just plain Carlos Estevez. He was a much more likeable guy back in those days.

News Flash:

DID IT TO AVOID JAIL TIME!

Charlie: "Please judge..cough,cough, I'm a "sick" man...only REHAB not jail will help me"!

Judge: Well O.k. Charlie...you've been SUCH a good egg all these years...we'll give you pass so you can go and waste the courts time hiding out in a REHAB that does no good..oh I forgot it DOES do SOME GOOD...I've got a financial interest (as does the prosecutor and your own defense attorney) IN REHAB!"

Charlie: "Well it's a Win...win...LOSE all the way around!
See Ya Chumps!"
