Charlie Sheen

Checks into Rehab

1/28/2011 7:54 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen voluntarily checked himself in to an undisclosed rehab facility earlier today ... and his show "Two and a Half Men" has been placed on indefinite "hiatus" while he undergoes treatment.

"Two and a Half Men" producers released a statement saying, "Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing “Two and a Half Men” on production hiatus."

The statement continues, "We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision."

Sheen's publicist tells us, "He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern."

As TMZ previously reported, Sheen had a briefcase of cocaine delivered to his mansion during a 36-hour bender earlier this week ... and was hospitalized early Thursday morning for a hiatal hernia.

Rehab my bu**... he's coming off hours of coke... he wants to sleep not work and he wants everyone to leave him alone for a few days so he can. it's a hotel to him and a way to avoid questions from the DAs office, his work and his family. He's a coke head!!

As the mother of a former production assistant, I think Charlie Sheen needs to take some of his millions and pay for all the good people who are now out of work while he's in rehab. Bills have to be paid, show or no show. How about it, Charlie? Think about the other people who work because of you.

Is there a rehab for rich *ssholes who think they are above everyone and can do whatever they please? That's the rehab he needs.

So Charlie enters rehab eh? Wonder where he's storing that "briefcase full of cocaine" so he can get to it once he's out?

This guy is simply out of control and a short stint in rehab (he's not going miss more than one day of production at his salary) is only an appeasement to those who have so much invested in him. A hiatal hernia is the least of his worries, he's going to snort himself to death before anything such as a little abdominal tear does him in.

Hey Now

Is Charlie Sheen a Lady Gaga fan? Just curious.

Good luck Chuck. You made the right move. You choose to live.

@129 It is your fault for enabling Charlie. Normal people would say I am not working for him anymore as he is an addict and NOW they would bring in a great pay day. Whoever stayed with Charlie should be scrutinized. The show should be shut down and people fired for enabling him.

Let's see how long this last! Rehab is great if you really buy into it. Problem is, I think all Charlie wants to buy into is coke and booz.

It's too bad the producers can't write a scrip where one character departs for awhile, and the rest continue on...thereby protecting jobs of all the others, and letting the show go on.

They said hiatus, he said hiatal, let's hope he gets the help he needs.

I have a feeling he'll check himself out of rehab by monday, tuedsay at the latest and be back onset by wednesday. And for those of your that are saying "good for you charlie, get better" blah blah blah, he's not coming on tmz from rehab or wherever and reading your comments.

This is so very sad. Though, as a professional screenwriter, I have to say that rather than put the cast on hiatis, they aren't thinking it through...Charlie Harper's real life is running pretty much the same as Charlie Sheen's, why not have him enter rehab on the storyline? Jon Cryer and the rest of the cast could continue in their rolls as Charlie continues from his rehab. I've been a huge fan of Two and a half Men since the first show...I know the characters and this could work without depriving the fans of a top rated show. What are they (network) thinking?

That is a really really good idea.
