'Golden Voice' -- The Secret Homeless Money Drop

1/28/2011 2:15 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Ted Williams just pulled off a HUGE surprise for the homeless man he shared a tent with on the streets of Ohio -- when he drove up to his friend's corner and dropped off a MAJOR wad of cash.

Sources connected to "Golden Voice" tell us ... shortly after Ted ditched rehab, he reappeared at his old stomping grounds Monday ... but this time he was being driven around in a black SUV.

We're told Ted located a man named Victor (pictured right) -- his best friend and tent-mate on the streets --and immediately pulled over the car.

The reunion was emotional -- and after the men exchanged a hug and some kind words, Ted gave Victor a wad of cash and promised to help him out once he gets his own life back in order.

while he needs help himself..this just goes to prove a poor person will help someone in need quicker than greedy rich people.im not rich id give the shirt off my back to someone if they really needed it.yet you have people like oprah who doesnt give a dime of her money away.

Hope he doesn't blow through what money he has left.
Wonder if this man will be afforded the same courtesy and enabling that Charlie Sheen is getting when he gets caught again?

Tedy Williams probably gave the money to his homeless buddy to snort cracked cocaine together for later on!

#24...good point.

Maybe, by being on the streets and thinking about how he lost his fortune, Ted knows what's best for himself. I heard a new article that Ted left rehab because Dr. Phil's offer actually had a lot of strings attached. When Ted arrived, both he and the rehab facility were surprised that Dr. Phil's team actually had cameras on hand filming what appeared to be material for use on a future reality show. The rehab facility tried to make more private accomodations for him, but Dr. Phil's team intervened and said that if Ted didn't cooperate they would spin it as if he was trying to avoid getting help for himself. So, he decided to leave.

Makes you think. Why would Dr. Phil publicly offer to help him and then decide that everything from that point on be private.

Homeless people are good for one thing - SOYLENT GREEN.

As for the ******* on here worried TMZ endangered the loser homeless guy telling all of his cash.

HEY MORONS... he'll be through that money before the sun goes down, and the 'wad of cash' wasn't defined... it could be $20! AND how many homeless people are checking on the internet into TMZ's site to see if any homeless in their town just received a wad of cash (not saying it's only other homeless people that would be interested in such a thing).

Do you 'tards think before you post... or has the mold living in your momma's basement caused brain damage?

I'm sure many will see this as sweet, but I'm honestly saddened by it.

To me, it denotes someone who is struggled (referring to Ted here) and needs to feel emotional highs and lows, and is simply creating them in a new way.

His "hit" was not a drug, but basking in the attention of dramatically dropping a wad of cash in a friends hand.

Why not pa for that friend to go to rehab himself? And if he don't have that problem, why not set him up responsibly and see that the money spent responsibly?

When your that broke some times the only
way to survive is to team up and share
every thing chances are he see's this man more as family
than as an acquaintance.
