Keith Olbermann Takes Gig With Al Gore's TV Network

2/8/2011 3:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Keith Olbermann has a brand new home -- Al Gore's Current TV ... where he'll take the position of "Chief News Officer" and host a new 1-hour nightly show.

The show is set to debut in the spring -- it'll be the first time Keith will host a show since he abruptly parted ways with MSNBC last month.

Gore -- who serves as Chairman of Current TV -- says he's "extremely honored and delighted" about Keith ... calling him a "great fit with Current in every way."

Gore also said Olbermann will be able to make political donations in his new job -- explaining, "We believe at Current that every citizen has freedom of speech, and that freedom of speech includes the ability to donate to candidates of your choice."

Gore is such a d-bag. He is too much of a fraud and a coward to debate anyone that knows his junk-science is just that. The kooks that idiotically support this crook like sheep are too stupid to realize he's made MILLIONS off his fear mongering scheme.

It is always so easy to know the people who only get their news from FOX's maniacs!

And Keith was not fired as so many of you think. (Bet I know where you heard that.) He was suspended for 2 days for making political donations (2 small ones). Morning Joe had done the same thing and nothing was said or done to him. Keith thought that unfair as it was and QUIT!

I am always shocked to realize how many stupid people there are in our country. It never changes the people with the biggest and loudest mouths have the emptiest heads. Keith Oberman was probably the most intelligent man msnbc had on air. I will miss him.

We MSNBC watchers really miss Keith. Lawrence O'Donnell is good, but he's no Keith. I'm going to try to get our cable supplier to give us Current TV, but I bet they won't; they include Fox "News" in Basic Cable, but to get MSNBC, Animal Planet, Comedy Channel, or National Geographic you have to pay for HBO.
