Police Report: How Lindsay Walked Out with Necklace

2/10/2011 2:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan was trying on a slew of jewelry before walking out of the store with the $2,500 necklace ... this according to the police report obtained by TMZ.

Lindsay Lohan Necklace
The report outlines Lindsay's every move -- from the time she walked into the store to the time she left -- and it's all on surveillance video.

According to the report, Lindsay walked in and removed her necklaces and placed them on the counter.  The report says, "Ms. Lohan then proceeds to try on numerous rings and three different necklaces including the missing yellow diamond necklace."

The police report then says Lindsay continued shopping while wearing the yellow necklace.

Then, at 6:12 PM, the owner locked the store but let Lindsay and her friend Patrick continue to shop.  That's when Lindsay tried negotiating a ring she had been eyeing, but she didn't like the $3,600 price tag.  Lindsay took $3,000 cash out of her purse and offered it in exchange for the ring, but the owner said no.  Lindsay then said, "Ok, we'll come back tomorrow."

When Lindsay prepared to leave the store, she put her own necklaces back on her neck, along with the yellow necklace in question ... then walked out of the store.

The owner noticed a short time after Lindsay left that the yellow necklace was missing, but figured she took it by mistake and would bring it back the next day.  Lindsay never returned to the store.

It sounds like this is 100 percent the jewelry store's owners fault. Lindsay should sue her for a million dollars for causing her all this trouble...I thought that Lindsay might do ten days in jail, but now I think she will walk away with no jail time. It's a very weak case and DA Duh Nette is'nt the brightest light on Broadway....

Harvey! You are such an idiot.I don't know where you went to law School.Does anybody truly believe that a nationally known celebrity was in the Store and nobody was gawking, attending and watching her put the necklace around her neck? Where was eveybody? Out to lunch? They are lying. If they knew there is no theft. They waived paper work. When the call was not returned by Lindsay, they concocted the story.

Not buying that the store is just out for publicity. What store in Los Angeles would want that kind of publicity? Think about it. Stars that are wanting 'loaner' jewelry (and willing to fill out paperwork) will favor other stores. It will be known as a jewelry store that is selling jewelry only.

there is absolutely no way if you have one customer in the store and you are talking to them that you can't see they are still wearing a necklace from your store. the owner would have to be blind not to have noticed she was still wearing it.

@Caligirl.. can you read? The store DID try and contact her repeatedly. They waited for her to do the right thing and return the necklace... she kept, she wore repeatedly out in public. Done. Lindsay was probably pissed that the store wouldn't sell her the ring for the $3000 instead of $360...0 and figured she'd get them back by walking off with the necklace... it's all about her own sense of entitlement. People owe her, she shouldn't have to pay full price for anything she is a star damnit... give it up, girls guilty.

That's theft. She went through the whole process of ripping a jewelery store off and getting away with it. Atleast to me this is obvious. She walked out of the store with an item not paid for and used clear tricks that most jewerlery thieves use. This is cut and clear to most people. I have to remind myself though that this is Lohan and with a good lawyer, in Hollywood, you can get away with anything whether you did it or not.

This dumb bitch knew (and knows) exactly what she was doing. Plus, she had FIVE WEEKS to clean up her side of the street. When are they going to stop allowing this lying little ****bag to get away with this. She's got a serious superiority complex. Newsflash for you, Lindsay: YOU SUCK! ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL!

I wonder why the jeweler wasn't paying better attention to her and more accountable for noticing the necklace in question was not handed back along with the rest of the items she was trying on before Lindsay was able to leave the store.... Apparently Miss Lohan is also a master of misdirection....

Oh that explains it. Lindsey seems like a pro that this. She had to have planned the whole thing. I don't buy the oops, I forgot excuse now.

Whether or not she accidentally took the necklace, she never returned it. If she didn't mean to take that necklace, she should have had it brought back the very next day! She was there quite often... since she was just there about four days prior to taking that necklace.

Lindsey also said that the store owner let her borrow it and that she gave it to one of her assistants to return it. The store owner was completely unaware of this "borrowing" that he/she did.

Whether it was borrowed or accidental, it all just doesn't make sense. It is time Lindsey Lohan paid her dues...

Loser Loony Lindsay and her mom Nicole are always trying to spin excuses for the psychopath's klepto behavior. This story merely underscores that Loser Loony Lindsay will have to pay the piper on this one.

Sorry Nicole, but no matter how quick to the punch you are on your Loser daughter's behalf, it still absolutely zilch.
