as a banksy collector, i find this really sad. at least in the UK they respect his art. this piece is far too big to be displayed, so it is most likely disney who wanted it taken down.

for those who say banksy is irrelevant, do your homework and take a look at some of the other pieces he has done in LA in the past week. yes he uses stencils and has a crew that works with him, but the difference between banksy and the average graff artist is context.

banksy is one of the most influential artists of our time. it is a shame that disney is still bitter about the guantanamo doll. i can only hope that exit wins the oscar.

When I was in art school, one of my teachers compared graffiti artists to dogs marking their territory. Not everyone likes this type of expression, and I'm sure Disney wanted it taken down and destroyed. Hopefully they won't destroy it.

why didnt this guy get charged for vandalism?? anyone else spray paints something that doesnt belong to them they get a charge on them.yet just because this guy is an "artist" he gets nothin??

gang members did some graffiti on a store im gonna be furious when they paint over their art work.its a shame that people go otu of there way to vandalize stuff then someone tears it down.i mean really people are actually wondering why they took down he billboard that this so called artist vandalized geez.also isnt it supposed to be illegal to vandalize property??
